Why? The last one lasted a year and a half with no discernable reduction in
    battery life.

And as I'm not one of these tight gits who want 50 years use out of a mobile
    phone, it'll do me fine.
    Hahahahaha.

He thinks *I'm* a fashion victim.

Awww, another gay comes out in UKRM.

Paging BGN, break this one in gently or roughly, however he likes it.

So long as you use a "large penised man".
Ah, ok, it seems Nige is now requesting double penetration for an hour at
    least.

Needs a much wider poll I think.

It was just such a night and day difference in battery lifespan when I tried
    to use MMS.

I thought I'd post it as a couple of iPhone users are getting poor battery
life and am curious if a quick reset improves it for them.

That's why I said that phones are consumer items today. I could have
said that "todays phones are consumer items" I suppose.

    It prolly does.

    While I'm here, and in a posting protocol-type groove, I don't suppose,
Mister Frag, that you might consider changing the settings in your
"Most Powerful Newsreader In The World"? Just the reply-to ID bit,
that's all: you currently have it set to %email%, see, whereas if you'd
set it to %poster's name% then I could tell, easily, to whom you're
addressing your replies rather than having to strain my little ginger
brain to recall who it is, open the thread up to check, or having to
    memorise every bugger's email address(es).

I think the one above is Timo, by memory, but I'd just like to /know/
for my own obsessive benefit, see. Your ID, OTOH, is apparent, whislt
the ID of those to whom you respond is shrouded.

    TIA, HAND, etc., etc.

Unless it's crn or any other twat who doesn't bother setting a name, of
    course.

Maybe we should have a whip-round to have them all whacked.

Or any of the other "Independent Expert Computer Consultant (*nixhead)"
types who can do anything and everything except drive a steam-powered
    newsreader.
I take your point and willingly chuck one of Champ's Pahnds in yerrat.

Consumer consumables (as opposed to durables) I'd go along with.
"Consumer items" is a bit on the broad brush side of things, imo.

Not really. When you see that telcos make money on the phone contracts
and they nearly give away phones away for free in a lot of cases, it
turns the phone into a consumer item.

Why would I want to confuse the world by changing the ID that I have
consistently used for best part of 20 years.
I could pick a silly nickname or I could use the full name which is
trivially available online for anyone with the intelligence to look.
    Why bother ?.

Why not just set the full name bit to be "crn" or something if you feel
    that attached to it?

  17. It's not what you use, it's how you use it (or not, in your case).

If you got the style you can make it

Well if you go out walking all day and want to use the GPS you will /
need/ a spare battery ( as well as a decent GPS mapping programme ) I
picked up 2x spare batteries for my 5800 for a fiver each.

Iphone is flashy and in I guess, but there there is also the cost
difference , lack of Flash player support, no external memory card.
You can't run applications concurrently in background, does not
support Viewranger ( the best OS mapping util )

Also.. does it even support use as a modem yet ie 'tethering ' ?

I would have one if I felt I need to save 10 Seconds a day due to the
faster screen update , but then you couldn't even get them PAYG when
I last upgraded though, not sure about now.
hmm but you clearly didn't look into your requirements for a mobile
phone before plumping for iphone ?
