It's one of my favourite books and I thought the recent television
version was pretty good until the poison dripped in the eyes bit. FFS.

The adapaptation from 1981 still wins and not just because a man from
the BBC told me to piss off during the making of it.

The Steyning bypass had been built but not opened and it was being used
for filming. It was quite exciting as it involved an 'armoured' Land
Rover ploughing into triffids along the deserted road.

We thought it was great, but I suppose having three 12 year olds in
wellingtons and parkas sat on the embankment watching the mayhem probably
    spoilt the post apocalypse ambiance.

Hence the man from the BBC telling us to piss off.

LOL. He should have used you as extras, those triffids would have looked
better if they were running away in terror before being squished :)
