I'm well aware I don't live in Bexhill.

It's the shittiest bit of the south. The sort of place I'd /imagine/ DNC
    would live.

Heh. Nope. Although why you should imagine I live in a shitty area is

Those aren't Brighton prices, just my outlying scabby old suburb of
Brighton (west Hove). Do Brighton proper or deepest darkest Hove then it
    gets very silly.

    Worse than Hastings?

    FMOB, it must be awful.

I've only ever been through Bexhill, on the way to Lewes or Eastbourne
    on Cricket Tour. (from Hastings)

    i) Luton is in the Midlands. It's near Bedford FFS.
ii) Yes, much, much worse. Junkie-Chav-Town

Bexhill's just Hastings without any of the amenities.

Does have a kwak dealer, though.

Since when has Bedford been Midlands? I think you need to be North of
    Peterborough to count as Midlands.

The Midlands stretch from the M40 to Lincoln. If I had my way it would
    start at Ditchling.

Neither Luton or Bedford are classed as being in the Midlands, no-one
seems to know what we're classed as here. We get Anglia TV, not London,
but we're only 20 minutes from the M25. Northamptonshire is in the
Midlands, but that's 20 miles north. We're not classed as Home Counties
either cos we don't border London.

    Anyone got any definitive answers?

Although, we too get Anglia TV and news coverage etc (what there is of
it) is Anglia. BBC radio see's Northants as part of the 'Eastern
Counties' network, but Beds is 'Beds, Bucks and Herts' - so feck knows
    what point I was making.

I had to have it on the first mortgage I had, but not on the subsequent
    two.
Exactly, when we had the foot and mouth thing my parents had zero money
coming in. The Nationwide agreed to them stopping payments completely
for up to six months, in the first instance. Unlike Barclays, who
withdrew the overdraft, stopped all cheques and generaly fucked things
    up.
