    Aha! When you wrote "I think I'll take it down the local friendly puter
    shop..." I thought that the 'it' was referring to the motherboard. On
    re-reading I now realise that it was the cpu that you talking about. I hope
    you haven't chipped/cracked the core when putting on the heatsink or you RMA
    may be a problem. Anyhow, sorry about the confusion.

    I was just trying to find a combination that OE wouldn't bollox up.
