    Aaaarrrrrgggghhh

Alright, I forgot that people live in the sticks. :)
Heh, the 19th in Paris is great for Indian stuff, whereas the 13th is
great for Chinese and Viet stuff. They're not afraid to use spices.
    :)

The IBM plant in Greenock at 1992 values exported more than the entire
    Whisky industry combined.

  7. Err there were plenty of french people happy to talk to BBC news about
how disappointed they were to be losing M&S and the range of food and
    other goods that they sold.
Yes the workers were revolting. I don't think it was anything to do with
currencies. It was simply because the operation was making a loss at a
time when M&S had lost its way in terms of what it was offering its
customers. To stay in business they had to cut back - a lot of their
    foreign stores were casualties.

AAMOI, how much did they overprice stuff like that? The only time I've
seen them (Heinz, of course, whereas I imagine M&S only had their own
brand) in France, they've been around a pound or more a tin. I've
still got half a case in the cellar, which I ration, along with other
Brit luxuries like cheese (in a freezer) beer, HP sauce, etc. etc.

  13. AOL. I was gobsmacked to see how popular all the M&S food was in
Paris. I guess they do 'quality and quick' like no-one else (though
Tesco finest are getting there now).

Gawd noes. Hate baked beans me.

TBH, there are more and more Supermarkets (in Paris) that have other
Brit stuff in their 'Produits du monde' section. I even saw HP brown
    sauce in one [1].

dog should be able to correct me, but at a guess, there must be tons
of English stuff in the Supermarkets around 'Maisons Laffitte', which
is really another name "little Britain." [2]

[1] And I'll be buggered if I can find it again.
[2] There's even an English Anglican church in the area.

Here, you seem to have forgotten this:

    "-eating surrender-monkeys."

    Anyway, your point is?
