Too late for supplementary bluster. It doesn't matter how you try to dress
it up. By fulfilling Godwin's law you lost all credibility and therby lost
    the argument.

    (Andy Hewitt) struggled to ejaculate:
And here we have the nub, eh? This is what the Countryside Alliance
are at great pains to deny - it is *not a sport*. Allegedly.

Fox hunting, according to the CA, is a means of controlling vermin.
Not only is it allegedly a vital means of controlling the vermin that,
if left unchecked, would eat them out of house and home, it is a way
of rural life that has been so for generations and it supports many
families who would become unemployed and homeless without it. This is
why the toffs are all so worked up about it - it offends their
altruistic principles that Government should intend to interfere with
their people and the living with which they endow their people.

I have not seen anything from the CA that mention fox hunting as a
sport. I do not think for one moment that they could justify the
practice of fox hunting as a sport per se, certainly not in the
context of modern life. I don't want to see ancient traditions die
any more than anybody else, but I really don't see why this issue has
become so huge in this context.

There are many personal freedoms that are now restricted by
legislation - compulsory helmet wearing, seatbelt use, prohibition of
mobile phone use when driving spring readily to mind; and there are
thousands of smaller freedoms that have been lost to the might of
Government because, apparently, they are bad things to do.

As a means of controlling vermin it must be the most grossly
inefficient method in current use. There are many other means
available which are both more efficient (in any sense of the word) and
more humane. I would class fox hunting in the same bracket as stag
hunting, otter hunting and hare coursing - bloodsports carried on for
the gratification of the participants. Whilst I personally strongly
disagree with bloodsports of this type, the current campaign is not
based on this issue: perhaps it should be - it would be more honest
    that way.

Now, see, this is a difficult question; If you're trying to suggest I know
nothing about "farming", you're barking up the wrong tree, uncle has a
    farm dontcha know.
I've never actually lived in a town, I don't know how you can separate
town and country so easily. A lot of it seems to be in-between.

I live in Zierikzee, a small town, surrounded by farms.

What difference do you think it makes?

I know bugger all about farming as such, despite many of my friends
being farmers or farmer's kids. I lived in the countryside for most of
my childhood and cannot abide people coming into a rural community and
trying to enforce their PC ways upon it. Things happen in villages that
townies just can't understand, things that have been done for hundreds
    of years.

Morris dancing is a pointless rural pastime that causes some spectators
huge amounts of discomfort, do you want that banned too?

My honest opinion is this. If you don't like seeing foxes being chased,
then stick to the towns and cities where you belong.

No. We want Morris Dancing combined with hunting.
That would get rid of the vermin and be more fun

Exactly. Basicly, people in London making rules about things they think
    that they know about.

Why don't the polititans draft a law that makes it illegal for foxes to
kill peoples live stock, that'll work. The trouble is, that foxes are
    crafty buggers and can't read.

I've seen far more barbaric acts than fox-hunting commited outside town
centre nightclubs every Saturday night against other human beings. Ban
    alcohol and nightclubs I say.

Simple solution. Spray those convicted for violent disorder with Essence
of Reynard and set the hounds on 'em. Bet the incidence of trouble
outside nightclubs would drop pretty fast. And the hounds would have
summat to do after the foxhunts stop.

    Exactly ... what?

The two lines that Loz wrote which I have left for context - or the
50+ lines I snipped out, containing contrary arguments?

And in response to your post - do you not think that the "people in
London" live there/stay there/have never lived in "the countryside"
and that they have no dialogue with people who do live "in the
countryside", some of whom may be their constituents - and of these,
many may be pleased that hunting with dogs is to be banned?

    You're a (anti-snipping) city boy yourself, aren't you?

You're not wrong there. I got a fractured skull, internal bleeding, lost
a little of my balance permanently and got damaged nerves and muscles
too. All coz some dozy pissed twats took a disliking to my bike, then me.

  14. Sounds like the way they are 'alleged' to have enjoyed fox hunting in
Seff Efrika then... Tom Sharpe will inform.

Well, I've been a country lad since age 11. Had a hunt come through our
garden once or twice too. :)

    Oops..

Well out of order. Much damage done? These twots think they still live
at the top end of a feudal society. Usually write the right to ride
roughshod over tenants gardens into the contract.

Banning foxhunting was the inevitable backlash to the tory whelps
bringing in the dangerous dogs act I reckon.
