OT/FOAK: Multiple PSUs in a PC

  1. The listed temperatures read as *minus* 42 and *minus* 26, YTC.

No, it was a dash. If it was a minus, there wouldn't have been a space
    between it and the number.

But that doesn't make for such a good punchline...

  3. I know but...
Exactly. I wish I hadn't bothered now, it wasn't even funny FFS.

You can run your PC from two PSUs, but linking them together might be
an arse / involve wiring things.

You could get the 2nd PSU in there, then hook it up to the hard drives.
You'd need to short pins 13 and 14[1] on the motherboard connector, and
it'll turn on and power whatever's connected. Make sure whatever you
use to short the pins is very secure - if it comes off it'll stop the
power immediately. I don't know what the effects of doing this will be
    though, I've never tried it.

[1] I think it's these, best check though. It's a test the PSU does -
no signal back and is doesn't power up.

I've got an A7N8X Deluxe v2, and I don't get any problems at all. I
also use the 3com onboard lan thing.

I'd suggest unplugging a few drives if possible to see if you are
    running out of power.

  6. I'd be inclined to leave memtest86 running overnight.

Unlikely to be memory but it may be an intermittent fault.
