Petrol at Snetterton, because the pump on the circuit didn't take plastic
    IIRC.

Mr Sheene would make a pleasant counterpoint to the Finish rinse aid.

not merging as such - although it's been obfuscated to a certain
degree, I get the impression that the long term plan is to ditch Java
for enterprise-level apps, and move over to being nearly 100% a
Microsoft shop. But most likely, the formulator of this Master Plan
will leave and something else will be the Next Big Thing in a year or
    so.

that's why I ask it. I specifically want to see how people react to
being asked difficult questions, because in our day to day business we
get asked a fair number of difficult questions; either difficult
because the person asking the question doesn't understand what they
want to ask for, or difficult for political reasons, or difficult in a
"I know you've already told me you don't know the answer to this
question but I'm going to keep asking it until you give me an answer"
kind of way. If you can't deal with this sort of shit, you won't fit
    into my team.
well, I do provide them with more context - I make it clear that I'm
asking the question in the context of - say - having chosen between 2
or 3 different technologies or solution paradigms and eventually
realised that it had been the wrong choice. I don't expect people not
to make mistakes - what I am looking for is people who know when to
cut their losses and salvage as much as possible from those mistakes.

Raspberry, iirc. I just happen to like cherry brandy, having been weaned
    on the stuff.

This doesn't really fit in with your comment regarding 'differently
grammared' mongs of another post. Which I applauded.

For what it is worth, it has been my general recruitment/industrial
experience that the very best IT types often have problems communicating
with us ordinary mortals. Not just eloquence but the whole range of
    social skills.

Potential employers who insist on conversation skills, dress sense, the
ability to keep track of time and small or non existent tits are, in my
view, doing themselves and their customers a grave disservice.

But, fortunately, not their employees who have to deal with these
socially inept tits on a daily basis.

    How apt ...
The bison piss one was the surprise of the evening, I thought - didn't taste
anywhere near as bad as I'd imagined. The lime one was the one that tasted
    like rinse aid.

    you're right - it's actually a nice vodka. Doesn't mix well with,
    well, anything, mind.

I don't think I've ever seen so much alcohol in one shopwindow. Trouble is,
finding the right occasion to use up a bottle, and move on to something
    different ...

oops, sorry. Anyway, didn't you hear? I've moved on to using a Lesley
    Philips style accent these days.
oh, just drink the stuff - occasions are for girls.

I don't think I've had ANY flavoured vodka that I liked. Bison Herb
ranks amongst the worst, although Red Pepper vodka's pretty nasty.
