HI, I've been with Demon for near 10 years. First with dial up, then with BB. Whilst they provide a good technical service, and no censorship etc. IMO they are not/no longer competitively priced. I was wondering about switching to Talk Talk (the free broadband forever) offer. Monetary wise this would save me almost 50% per month and I may get an increase in speed from 2mb to 8mb. However, I have tried over the last few weeks to get some technical answers and have failed. It would appear I could get theses answers if I ring their support line (charged at 50p per minute). OK. The answers I have received, If I can believe them mean I get the same services as with demon. Can I just ask here if some of you know these details? - What method of authentication to the SMPT server is used (ip address or from: header) - What NNTP servers do they offer (text/binary or both) - download limits and website data limits (other ppl d/l my website ) - what services do their webservers run (SSI,php, perl fp ext etc.) Also can I get some opinions from those who are/have been with TT. I have only been with TT for cps for 2 months now (since my other cps was taken over by them). Money is the main factor here. I need to reduce my monthly bill. currently I pay bt line rental £11.99, then demon £24.99 TT offer would be TT line rental £10.99 then £9.99 for the talk plan which includes free BB. However I would also be tied in for 18 months. So answers, opinions, better suggestions? thanks
