OT FOAK Cancun (Mexico)

    OK, tickets for 2 weeks in Cancun for me and SWMBO are booked.

    Can the FOAK give me any info on Cancun, or places round about?

    (Yes, I've Googled, and the gist of the 4 postings I found was 'go to
    Cuba instead', which wasn't terribly helpful.)

    Cancun is full of Germans and Frogs, I'd check out Merida and Chitzen
    Itza. There is also a cool cave to see to at Balankanche. Rent a car and
    make sure is has front and read license plates. If the cops hassle you
    speak German. Its a fun place to visit.

    The entire area was a bit of a mess when I was there too. I believe it
    was Gilbert. There were still planes laying upside down at the airport.
