    Little Miss Sunshine.

Not something I'd ever have picked for myself, but a friend brought it
    round. It's rather wonderful.

  2. I thought it was great too - particularly Grandpa growing old disgracefully.

Disappointing, compared to Shaun of the Dead.

I enjoyed it a lot but thought Sean of the Dead funnier.

BTW, Helldrivers was on BBC2 last night - I taped it on your

It's a classic 50s British film and a very good one at that. Worth it
for the roster of actors. Probably not worth it for the special effects.

Not as good as Shaun of the dead, but still watchable. Wild hogs is
watchable too and William H Macy steals every scene.

well, no. I'm 90% sure I've actually seen it before, years and years
ago. I looks like something for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

It's an old film, of a different time, different film making sensibility,
different social culture and that's why I like it.

Anyway this is based on a criticism from someone who feels Wild Hogs is
    "watchable".

Amazing that you worked that out given that it was a 1950's film.

and that's why I like it.

And probably why I liked it in the 50's, but don't think it stood the test
    of time too well (IMO).
Criticism? And there I was thinking it was just an opinion.

I used the term 'life affirming', but I was pissed at the time. [1] On
    the bramble stuff from here

Took me a little while to work out the pun in the name, but it's true,
    I didn't.

[1] Chimay has a lot to answer for.

  19. I think it had Conor Turton's dad in it.
Actually, it made a good point for its day - that of the unregulated
hours, shit working conditions and shocking maintenance of a helluva lot
of lorries on British roads at the time.
That, and it being a vehicle to make money, what with the lads Connery
(who was a knicker wetter then) and Baker in it.
