Cheapest performance mod I ever bought was an R6 throttle tube for the
SV, reducing the throttle movement from just over 1/4 to about 1/5 turn.
It feels like someone added 20bhp to the bike in one move. Price - £8-50
    including a new twistgrip rubber.

  11. Why isn't there and aftermarket for these? I would buy. I haven't got
weak floppy wrists so throttles come in two types for me, closed to 3/4
open and 1/4 open to flat.

Slightly non linear is what I would really like though. A relical shaped
thingy would do that wouldn't it?

There's probably a Gixer one that could be made to fit, in fact I dare
say an R6 one could fit the GS as well, with some very slight
    modification.

  13. Tis more about what you can't see apparently.

Amongst the dirt there is :
The result of two years of development work, the cylinder head for the MINI
Cooper S features precisely CNC machined inlets and exhaust ports.
Top-class repeatability and performance are guaranteed. At the heart of the
JCW tuning kit is the supercharger. Incorporating a new pulley design, this
unit spins at a higher rpm, generating even better engine performance. And
not least.... The unforgettably throaty sound of the engine will register
    instantly in your ears.
There is a second air intake controlled by means of an electronically
actuated flap, which opens during acceleration at 4500 rpm. The result is a
significantly improved performance curve and an even more distinctive sound.

As a matter of chance the only thing I didn't actually have was the exterior
    badges fitted !

I'm just happy in the knowledge that I now have an electronically actuated
    flap.

That's quite appropriate given it's a girls car.

    Mini Cooper - agree
Mini Cooper S - semi agree

    It's a Mini, therefore it's a girls car. Engine doesn't matter.

what is it about mini owners? My brother has recently spent 10K on a 5
year old mini which I thought was extortionate.

I'm considering new cars and have about 16k to spend and asked what
    he'd get, his answer...

    a factory fitted mini.

    Claustrophobic inside I find.
£16k gives you a wide spread of options.
