    Nearly. Most, if not all, IP cameras have their own OS (and web server
    s/w), so can be programmed to email/ftp photos or videos, by using
    third party email servers or ftp servers. Pretty much like having an
    automated outlook express on the camera.

    Could you forgo the a dedicated hard disk and purely have it email jpegs on
    motion detection? I can't see I'd have the need for hours of pictures of
    nothing.
