    Oh font of knowledge,
Has anyone got any good recommendations of a managed company provider
for IT EKS? At the moment i'll probably go with www.libertybishop.co.uk
    but open to other recommendations.

As no agency is involved (word of mouth ye'see)will need to get this
crowd to invoice the company directly, any pitfalls here?

    Take a look at

    www.drolecomputingservices.co.uk

They have been doing stuff like this for nearly 20 years.

    I'm using Hyperlink - 360 Group. I'm sorry to say I can't recommend them,
    however.
    No problems I can see.
Your managed company provider will give you timesheets (& maybe expense
    forms) which the client signs.
You send them back to the managed company provider and they invoice the
    client.

    They've gone/going bust anyway.

FWIW, 360 set up my company for me 99 when I started contracting.
I ended up with a new account manager every 3 months, who never knew
    anything.

Eventually I got so sick of them I just told them to **** off (literally)
and that I would sort out my own accounts and problems
as they obviously had no clue what they were doing.

Took me two phone calls and a letter to the IR to sort out something 360 had
failed to sort out over 10 months.

And for that I paid them £££ a month.

It may sound strange, but I hope they all go fucking bankrupt because that's
the direction they were heading me into.

  6. Swot I did when I were an EKS & after a bit of a conflab with the IR
and some extra money to accountants IR35 was avoided.

Hmm. My shower of twats managed to almost miss the deadline :-/ [1]

I anxiously await by the letterbox for my (potential) fine. It's worse
than going through a GATSO ;-)

Rope was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
.... or MS Money Small Business Edition (do they still sell that?)
Pretty good, cost less than a hundred quid...

    companies.

I wasn't working as part of an umbrella - I had my own company - they just
did(n't do) the accounts for me.

Folks, thanks for all this info, much appreciated, contract is only 3
months so i'll hold off on the doing my own accounts bit for the moment.
Might end up permie somewhere else after it, not sure to be honest.

Anyone know when you use a 'managed' company say for 3 months, then you
go piss off to a permie job, is that the last you hear of it from the
IR?? Will there be complications when re-joing the permie sector
    regarding IR?

Seconded - been using it for 6 years - produces all the reports you'll
ever need and is a doddle to use.
