OT 'Did you know?' link to new technology predictions

  1. A video presentation that's doing the rounds of schools and colleges
in America. Music is dreadful, somewhere between riverdance and
terminator 2, I'd suggest using the mute button.

It was done by this bloke

"I put together a PowerPoint presentation with some (hopefully)
thought-provoking ideas. I was hoping by telling some of these
"stories" to our faculty, I could get them thinking about - and
discussing with each other - the world our students are entering. To
get them to really think about what our students are going to need to
be successful in the 21st century, and then how that might impact what
    they do in their classrooms"

He lists his sources in this .pdf
    http://www.lps.k12.co.us/schools/arapahoe/fisch/didyouknow/sourcesfordidyouknow.pdf

I've not done more than scan them and on the tech side I don't have
the knowledge to say how accurate they are.

Any one here got any thoughts on it?

  2. Yes, but are his references valid?

  3. I wasn't you know. I was wondering if any of the sources approached
    anything like peer reviewed status.

But on closer look he's relying on notes form presentations and web
    links.
Well of course, look at his motivation.
Yes, I know, but as the presentation has been taken up by various
schools and colleges I'm wondering if any of them have bothered
    checking the facts.
