Well.. the old Black and Decker finally gave up..For $12.95 and about four
consistent years, it just died.. The trip to Sears wasn't too bad .. Damn..
that ol' black GMC still runs arlright..

The store had some real impressive units on display, right ? One caught my
attention but I noticed one pricey little thingy for $119.95.. Cuisinart or
something like that.. Sheesh.. who'd pay that much for a damned coffed pot,
anyway.. I've never paid more than $20.00 for a danged ol' coffee pot..

I settled for the little stainless steel clad unit for $39.95.. Brought that
puppy home and read the book.. Holy cow.. you need a special ed class just
to make this thing brew coffee.. Well.. got it all figured our, poured in
the water (for $39.95, you'd think the damned thing would pour it's own
water, huh) Turned it on and presto.. water flooded my counter top.. Ah
well.. must've done something wrong.. Tried it again, same thing.. water
    everywhere..

I stuck that sucker back in the box and prompted retraced the route back to
Sears..The mexican was swabbing water and mumbling to herself, when I left
    her..

The nice lady in Sears, heard me indignantly explain about high dollar
coffee post flooding my counter tops, etc.etc.. She looked all over that
store for a replacement.. didn't have another one (no damn wonder, they leak
like a sieve)..Being a reguilar customer for years in the Sears stores, she
advised me to pick out an upgraded model for the same price... I walked out
of there with that Cuisinart that cost $109.95...

Got that one back home and let me tell you, the mexican wasn't impressed..
Kept mumbling all the time I was struggling with all that packaging
stuff..(how the hell do they do that, anyway).. Well . read the book, got
'er all cleaned up, plugged 'er in and got ready for some "real" coffee.. I
couldn't set the damned clock.. Read the book some more.. OK... still
couldn't set the clock.. the damned hands wouldn't move on it.. Finally got
so frustrated, I decided to take a break and the mexican kinda looked 'er
over.. "Don't worry about it, babe.. I'll take 'er back to Sears in a bit,
the damned clock won't work"..She mumbled a bit more .. After about half an
hour, I heard that woman giggling like a school girl.. She commenced
laughing like she was tickled to death.. "What the hell"? Then she dashed
into the living room and stuck something under my nose.. It was a small
round clear film with clock hands printed on it..Again "What the hell" ?
She'd peeled it from the dial of the clock.. It was a film protector for the
    damned clock face..

I read the book again, and proceeded to set that clock, easy as anything..
hmmm.. Guess I better get off this computer now.. Looks like it is going to
be necessary for me to physically abuse that mexican..just to make her stop
laughing at me... Go Figure.. Ah well.. I never claimed to be a "rocket
scientist".. BTW.. that high dollar gismo sure makes a mean cup of coffee..

LOL.... don't shop at the Wal-Mart doins.. Old Sam is spinning in his grave
watching what these nitwits are doing with his "little" bid'ness.. Sheesh..
'Sides.. pound for pound and dollar for dollar, good old Sears has done me
proud over the multitude of years that I've bought stuff from them..

hmmmm.. now.. if I can just cause them to quit putting those printed little
pieces of film over the dials on the coffee pots... Sheesh..

I'm so damn full today, I can't hardly breathe.. All these old friends of
ours, just kept coming yesterday .. They brought so much food in here, it's
gonna take a full month to eat it all.. So much for the fridge full of
leftovers.. At least I didn't have to slave over that hot cookstove to
prepare it.. LOL.. Paper plates are easier to clean up, too.. What a
    Thanksgiving...
