    Broadband has landed, at last.

"Balance" would not have been half so enjoyable on dial-up.

I also discover I have ethernet installed here. Now what can I
    use that for?

"Balance" won't come through our web marshall. I'll have to wait until
    I get home.
throwing away and replacing with wireless.

Connecting, by wire [1] to other computers in the house.

Or, as darsy says, throw it away and use wireless. OTOH, don't throw it
away, just use wireless instead, but you need more stuff for that ... ;)

[1] Wire being a network cable, of course. ;)

The following link might help. It certainly helped my sis, a real computer
numpty, get a great broadband system running as a cohesive network with both
wireless and wired connections. If she can do it, anyone can.

Just take a bit of time and read through the articles pertaining to what
system, software and 'stuff' you have .. ;)
