OT as hell - payg mobiles

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Paul Carmichael, Apr 18, 2009.

  1. I want to top up someone elses mobile. Here in Spain, I can, from the
bank website, top up any spanish mobile phone. I want to top up a uk
phone, but there's no facility on the uk bank websites. Apparently, one
can go to the t-mobile website and do it there, but only with the
username and password of the phone owner. Pants. You have to have a
password to pay? Surely this can't be right. Or is it an anti-terrorist
    tactic?

You do have to register if you want to do it on line, if you aren't
registered you need to buy a voucher thingy at a shop.
Can you not do that in Spain and use it on a UK phone ?

  3. No idea. I know nothing of vouchers. I usually top my phone up from my
bank website or at a cash machine. Now you mention it, last time I went
to the yuk I tried to top my uk phone up before leaving here and hit upon
some such rubbish about "registering" the damned thing. I waited and paid
at a cash machine at the airport in brum.

Register, pay, they sms you a voucher code.

Not used it, but it may be worth a go.

  6. Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll try what prawn suggested. It's for
my mum who is currently in a bmibaby 737 over Spain somewhere. I'll be
lending her a spanish sim for while she's here, but she'll need credit on
the phone when she goes home next week. If I can't make the website thing
work, I'll be back to you.

I had one you could top up direct from your own bank account all you had
to do was enter the same postcode as is on your bank details.
Unfortunately my postcode is 07100 and this just does not coincide with
what their opinion of a postcode is.

    The computer says no!
