The Republican National Convention is finished and the city of New York is
getting back to it's own rude and obnoxious self..

After a week of smearing and attacking the opposition, everyone has gone
home.. Whew.. We've heard from Elizabeth Dole, who is outraged by the
removal of some kind of monstrosity, from a courthouse in Georgia.. We've
heard from Arnold.. who recalled stories of Richard Nixon.. Then we got a
glimpse of the epitomy of a "friend".. Sen. Zell Miller took the podium,
much like a robot with a mission.. He marched stiffly across that stage and
commenced to speak.. My god.. this man is certifiably insane.. and he is
speaking for a man who would like another four years as leader of the free
world.. The bitterness and hate that categorized each word that he spoke was
chilling to say the least.. No way, Jose.. Zell Miller is a genuine
    nutcase..

Dick Cheney followed Miller and his opening remarks of admiration, was that
he's glad Miller is on their side.. Are you kidding me ?? I wouldn't want
Miller anywhere near "my side".. nor Cheney either for that matter..Of
course, Cheney didn't lose any time in going after John Kerry and was
almost, not quite, but almost as embittered as Miller.. this coming from a
man who benefitted from five deferrments to keep himself out of harm's way
    in Viet Nam..

I must admit, I didn't watch the closing night of this convention.. Instead
I was invited to attend a function in Arlington.. The function was hosted by
dedicated Texans who fully intend to defeat George Bush, Dick Cheney and
    this corrupt administration, in November...

From the reports of his speech, this morning.. Bush delivered more of the
same .. that we've listened to for the past four years.. The change that
Bush keeps talking about is very revealing, in itself.. If all these
policies have been so successful, as he boasts.. why change ? This Nation
has been divided almost straight down the middle by George W.Bush.. So
evenly divided, that the campaign staffs from either side is working 24/7 to
discover the one strategy that will deliver a winning vote..

Bush and Cheney have evidently decided that proving John Kerry is a coward
and unpatriotic is a winning theme for them.. This coming from the one, who
used family influence and subterfuge to gain a covetted billet in the
National Guard. Then went absent without leave, as soon as it was certain,
that he was no longer in danger.. The other man, took advantage of five
deferrments from military service, because he had other priorities.. The
very idea that these two, could call anyone a coward is ludicrous,
especially a veteran of that conflict they dodged, shed blood in that
conflict and came home as a decorated hero, to protest a war that he
considered unjust.. There is no integrity or credibility for either Bush or
    Cheney..

Bush went on to elaborate on the other successes of his administration,
which we have all been witness.. Each failure of his policy is declared a
success.. That isn't the case and America realizes the extent that Bush will
go to, just to hold onto the power of his office..

The eyes of the world is watching America during this election year.. The
world community does not hate Americans, although they despise the leader
who has brought our democracy to the level that it currently holds..
They are watching America carefully, confident that Americans will take back
our democracy that has been stolen from us..

  2. BJAY...Well, BW, wow!.......So, now we can Disc. the Federal Politics.
Not just Texas eh? And I agree with a lot of what you typed. I say
to the current Administration, they have had 4 years to do some of the
stuff, that they are promising again.....like Health Coverage.
Like, improving medicare for the seniors.
BUT, they are promising the same stuff that Kerry is promising....as if
they, the Republicans, havent even been running the White House, Senate
    and Congress..
I say, ‘They’ have had 4 years......actually 3 years, because they
all, I mean all of em" Democrats and Republicans, only do their
so-called work, 3 years, and spend the 4th, campaign’ing, for
ReElection. I SAY, none of em' should be able to serve but one term...

Looks like no matter how "corrupt" anyone thinks the current administration
is, Bush is going to be the choice over Kerry. You would think that with
all the lying and scum up there in Bushes administration that Kerry would be
6-8 points ahead right now. Instead, he is getting behind and behinder. He
cant seem to shake the vietnam war off. Instead he takes the bait and
continues to speak out about his heroices in vietname. Seems like he would
know to shut up like bush, but no, he cant keep his mouth shut.

I just got thru reading where it appears the navy is going to rescind the
"V" for valor pin that he got with his silver star. The silver star
includes valor and it was a procedural mistake to issue it with the silver
star. However, things dont stop there. It seems that in 1996 kerry singled
out Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jeremy Boorda for improperly wearing
two V for valor on Boorda's bronze star. Also improper, like the silver
star. Boorda got despondent and committed suicide. Kerry had the following
to say about Boorda improperly wearing the V for valor pin:

Quote: At the time, Kerry told the Boston Herald that wrongly wearing the
medals is a severe error in judgment. "Is it wrong? Yes, it is very wrong.
Sufficient to question his leadership position? The answer is yes," he is
quoted as saying. Kerry also spoke to the Boston Globe about the matter. "If
you wind up being less than what you're pretending to be, there is a major
confrontation with value, self-esteem and your sense of how others view
    you."

This was published in the ny times but there is a copy here that does not
    require registeration to read: http://tinyurl.com/5gfyv

Kerry needs to spell out what he is going to do if elected, not dwell on
vietnam. Unfortunately, he chose vietnam as his theme at the convention, I
think he spoke for 27 seconds about his 19 year senate record.

Hold on there, Sports Fan.. When the polls support your opinions, they are
the gospel.. When they contradict your opinion, you seem to follow the
wisdom of Shrub and discredit them.. LOL.. You and Bush need to get on one
page or the other.. Can't have it both ways..

    He
Hmm.. If I were Bush, I'd change that subject also.. <chuckle> Him and old
Cheney don't really have much to work with on that score.. As long as
"groups" keep coming out of the woodwork, trying to discredit official
records, Kerry should defend his military service..along with every veteran
    who has served ..
Whoa again, Sports Fan.. We've finally managed to coerce the powers that be,
to take a look at military records.. That means "investigation".. Which is
to say, that the investigation is beginning.. Don't mistake that as the
results, yet.. What is happening is that finally after all these years of
Bush hiding behind the "unavailable" excuse, his military records will be
opened and released in it's entirety..along with Kerry's.. LOL..When the
investigation is completed, hopefully we will find out, once and for all,
what REALLY happened to that time Bush has been able to unaccount for..
    (other than dental records)

However, things dont stop there. It seems that in 1996 kerry singled
When exposed .. Boorda committed suicide.. His chest full of medals and
    decorations could not be documented..
Boorda was also a "card carrying" Republican, like Bush.. who was exposed..
Some of the medals he wore, were never documented..
Hold on there, again.. John Kerry spoke the truth.. as any veteran will
witness.. Boorda diminished the significance of each one of us, when he
claimed decoration for medals he didn't deserve.. not the same thing, as in
this case, at all.. Kerry's medals and decorations are documented in the
Congressional Record as well as in the appropriate departments of the Navy
and Department of Defense.. What Boorda did colored the distinguished
service of many veterans as well as cast public doubt about how medals and
decorations are earned and awarded..None of us, ever had the opportunity to
award ourselves medals of any kind.. Neither did Kerry..
We are on the same page in this.. These candidates should be talking about
the issues that affect all of us.. Isn't it just a little obvious, that as
this becomes apparent, some "group" jumps in front of the media, challenges
Kerry's credibility in some unrelated issues ? In the presidential library
of George H.W.Bush, there hangs a picture of George W. .. He is in military
uniform, wearing two medals which have come into play as "undeserved"..

George W. himself has made his own military service relevant.. His people
have assassinated the character of any opposition, mainly by attacking their
military records..While Bush declares himself fighting wars compared to
raising teenagers.. wearing military apparell during photo ops with troops..
landing military aircraft on carriers just outside the San Diego
harbor..Then attacking his opposition, yet once again.. questioning the
credibility of that opponent's military decorations and medals..

Now.. let's get to that Senate record.. Let's discover the reasons why Kerry
has voted the way he has.. I've gone to the trouble to take a look into
those records and votes..Sadly .. many have not .. They've accepted, like
you.. the quick bites that they've seen on television.. Some have been
impressed with men like Zell Miller who claims "friendship" during one month
and can viciously attack the following month.. Damn.. men like Zell Miller
scare the hell out of me, when they commence calling themselves "my
    friend"..

In conclusion.. CHARACTER is what this is all about.. The past of George
W.Bush is not a commentary for "character".. His performance in office as
governor of Texas is not a commentary for character and the performance as
president is a sad commentary for character.. It is apparent that the only
way Bush and his supporters can defend his lack of character, is to
viciously attack the character of anyone who opposes him.. That is his only
    record of success..

Let's see if Bush and his family can stand this scrutiny.

George Bush Will be "Outed" and Dissed by Kitty Kelley in 12 Days

Slash-and-burn celebrity biographer who revealed Sinatra's mother
performed coathanger abortions and Nancy Reagan dug Sinatra at the
White House, is set to demolish evil George W. Bush with Sept. 14
    release of Bush Family biography.

    http://colombia.indymedia.org/uploads/the_family_bookcover.jpg

Look for it in book stores Sept. 14: Blue (it'll make the Bushes), red
(Kitty Kelley books are read massively in the US), and white (it's all
there, in dirt black and white).

    The biography is obviously unauathorized.

It reveals alleged sex offenses against minors by Dubya's father.

It reveals the use of the White House by male hookers under Dubya.

It reveals Bush's evil plans for YOU (details of which you will have
to get elsewhere), which should alarm you.

It reveals crooked business deals by every member of the Bush clan,
including the oh-so-holy first lady, Laura "Round Heels" Bush.

It reveals how former first lady Babs Bush is almost a practicing
    witch.

It reveals how Dubya has had a very special friend in the mayor of a
Tennessee city, who has has cohabited the Texas ranch many times.

It reveals the details of embarassing photographs of Bush that
actually caused U.S. Govt. agents to perpetrate the anthrax mailings
to destroy the building of National Enquirer and kill photo editor
    Stevens.

It reveals how you can get surprisingly close to America's Darth
    Vader.

It reveals the incredible relationship between Dubya and some famous
    televangelists.

It reveals intimate details gleaned from persons close to Bush in
    Crawford, Texas.

It reveals the filth of Bush's ancestors, the most shocking family in
    US history.

It reveals how Bush plans additional wars for oil, under the pretense
of fighting terrorism and defending Israel -- these are just
pretenses, the real reason is we are running out of oil.

It reveals Dubya's Oedipus complex with Babs, his love/hate
relationship with his father, some surprising medical details about
Dubya, including an explanation of why he is so burnt out.

It reveals the little-known relationship between Laura and Gen. Tommy
    Franks.

It reveals how Dubya's dad got the nickname "Rubbers" from
    Congressional colleagues.

It reveals how the Bushes plotted to kill Ronald Reagan and put Poppy
    Rubbers in the White House.

It reveals the involvement of Bush Sr. in the Colombia and South
    America drug trade.

It reveals Dubya's participation in the sexual/occult Rites of Onan
and the Skull and Bones at Yale University.

It reveals who runs Bush, and it is not Round Heels.

It reveals murders committed by the Bush family.

It reveals why George W. Bush, as heir to the Bush Dynasty, is the
greatest threat the US and the world has ever faced.

This book makes Fahrenheit 9/11 look like pablum. It is real raw meat.

  7. I think the previous democratic administration with Bill Clinton,
actually left Money in the bank, no outstanding bills. Unemployment was
average like always, Health care was no better, but certainly not worse,
like it is Now. BUTT, it didnt take Dubya long to spend that little bit
of savings. I do Realize that there's never been a
9-11 diaster on any President's watch.
I know that cost us all. I know that hurt the stock market for a good
year. BUT, there was no cents in going into Iraq, that quick...I believe
it was 5 months after 9-11. Should have concentrated on Alfganistan a
good deal longer....then on the side......make necessary arrangements
and keep the patience....and wait for UN's help to go after Hussein. I
think I read somewhere, that there wasnt one Iraqi terrorist aboard any
of the Jets that caused the 9-11 diaster. I really object to spending
almost 100 billion on the Iraq war......that scares me in to thinking it
could go on for 5 more years.......thats alarming. I do understand
going after the folks that hate Americans.
Kerry knows that......all political leaders agree with that......no
doubt. None of em' want another attack here on our soil.....Bush didnt
do anything that another President wouldn't have done.....even Clinton.

You are right on so many of the points that you have made in this post,
bjay.. Except for one.. "Bush didn't do anything that another President
wouldn't have done.. even Clinton." That one .. I take exception to..

It has pretty well been established that Bush and his crew were making plans
to attack Iraq, by the time they hit the ground in Washington.. With all the
secrecy surrounding this administration, that's hard to nail down.. After
all the support of Americans and the world when the terrorists struck us on
911, Bush was encouraged to cross the line to proceed with those plans for
Iraq.. Bush lied and he sent his administration out to lie.. Cheney lied and
he sent his cadre out to lie..

Colin Powell sat before the United Nations and lied.. over and over.. All
those lies were fabricated to justify the war in Iraq.. All the evidence
indicated that Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on America.. Why did
Bush feel compelled to embrace all those lies and tell more lies on his
    own..??

So... Bush did quite a lot that "any other President" wouldn't do.. His
lies cost Americans dearly.. in lives lost and in taxpayer dollars, best
spent at home.. Yessir.. Bush lied and we will all pay for it .. even our
children and grandchildren will be paying for it for decades...

  10. BW, I think most of My comments in my post up the line was
    "Con-Bush".......
I said any President would have done what Bush did. I was referring to
How Patriotic he sounded and acted, the first few days following the
cowardly attacks....he made us all feel that way, or atleast me, and my
family felt that way......I put the American Flag on all my cages...just
like most americans did......I wanted to whoop some mohammed
asses......just like all of us....I was so pissed.......i wanted our
tough Marines, and all our military to go whoop some ass.....BUT, any
President would have said and done the things Presdent Bush did Demo or
Repub...it's just That He was the one in the oval office.....He was our
    President at the time..
<>Yes, I wonder who lied to who, and who didnt know they were not
telling the truth.....I am not sure Powell ‘out & out’ Lied, he
might have thought he was saying the truth....or he was saying a half
truth.....not the whole truth......some, down the line, from the
President, no doubt in my mind, thought they were right when they
    reported this and that......
That's the whole trouble with politics, those second, third, and fourth
hand knowledges, can really change by the time it gets to the Citizens,
no doubt about it...<> I agree, The Iraqi war was a Payback War, Bush
    jr......wanted soddam,
and probably knew he was gonna get him, the 9-11 was just a good
    excuse.....bjay

Incorporating two of your posts with one response is not an easy chore that
you have left for me.. Here goes with a "try" at it, anyway..

After the cowardly attack on our shores, 911.. the whole world was in
sympathy with all Americans.. We had their wholehearted support when we went
after the group responsible, in Afghanistan.. We did our job and the entire
    world was on our side..

Before we finished that job, Bush was beating the drums and preparing to
take on Saddam Hussein in Iraq.. With all the support for the campaign in
Afghanistan, Bush and his advisors miscalculated the sentiments of our
friends and allies.. He caved in to the pressure and concocted fabrications
(sp. lies) to justify the attack and invasion.. The friends and allies
didn't buy the stories.. all the evidence contradicted what Bush was telling
    us and them..

When Bush invaded Iraq, he virtually destroyed America's credibility and all
the good will, that we enjoyed ..

George W.Bush has lied to the American people from his campaign in 2000, to
the present day.. This is America, my friend and we have always been able to
believe and express our belief's without fear.. That environment is changing
quickly under this president and administration.. If he should somehow, win
a second term, the changes will become more intense and more quickly.. OUR
America will no longer be the home of the brave and free..

Enough of my rant.. Someone will be accusing me of being another Bush
bashing Democrat and we wouldn't want that to happen... LOL Stay safe, my
    friend..

I thought about your thoughtful comments all day. There is some validity in
the point you are making.. On the other hand, this is not a scenario for
republicans vs. democrats.. The politicians, especially in this
administration have successfully divided us into those groups.. making us
adversaries.. That is to their advantage..not ours..While we argue about
partisanship, they are left free to follow their own devices and WE all
    lose..
The information/evidence that was used to convince America to attack Iraq
was intentional.. It was manipulated and fabricated to inflame Americans to
go after Saddam Hussein.. There was no evidence that connected Iraq to the
attacks on us.. The intelligence desperately tried to make those
connections, according to their instructions from Dick Cheney and Donald
Rumsfeld.. Unable to do that, the story of "secret meetings" between Iraqis
and one of the terrorists was fabricated.. Even though the story was proven
to be fabricated and impossible, the administration used it, as evidence..

Forged documents were also provided to substantiate the case for Iraqi
involvement.. WMD's, stockpiles of chemical weapons and nuclear weapons and
declarations that "we know where they are".. convinced us that Iraq could
attack America within 45 minutes.. Even though no evidence could
substantiate the claims, our administration and president persuaded us that
Iraq was a deadly threat to us..

To this day, and with the massive forces that we have in place, no trace of
any of these claims have been discovered.. If anything, evidence that this
president and administration lied and deceived us, has been pronounced.. It
is very true that Saddam Hussein is little more than an animal.. It is very
true, the world is a better place with him in prison.. No one can make the
case, otherwise.. But.. at what cost.?

The integrity of our most powerful office in the world has been compromised
to the point of contempt.. The lies that were compounded by this president
and administration have reduced America in the eyes of our historic friends
and allies.. They no longer trust us, because of the lies that were
    manipulated to justify a war..
This cannot be disputed with any credibility.. A natural reaction by
anyone.. However.. this was not among the reasons given for attacking Iraq..
No mention of this reason, was ever presented..

The differance is that we lack the
Revenge for personal reasons cannot be justification for leading a nation
    into a disaster of war..
Now that our president has committed us to this "war".. we have no other
choice, do we ? Even though all the evidence that he used to justify this
war, has been disproved, fabricated and manipulated, we are bound to
complete the mission that he set upon us.. Support of our courageous men
and women who are bravely fighting in that land is a given.. There is no way
that we can walk away without doing our very best to ensure that we've
fulfilled our responsibility to Iraq and the world..

Support for a president who has led us into this insane position, without
regard for truth, is another matter.. As Americans.. it is part of our
responsibility to the world, that we show our disapproval of dishonesty, by
removing everyone connected to the disasters, from office..

Republican or Democrat.. if our leaders lack character, they are not a
reflection of our American spirit or what we stand for.. They should NOT be
tolerated to stand another term in office..

Thanks .. IceMan.. I appreciate your concern.. I believe that I have fully
recovered from that near tragedy.. I'd very much like to thank Beemer for
affording me the perfect opening to make that post.. I sure hope his plans
to develop the San Antonio chapter for TMRA II comes to reality.. We need
more Warriors like him, you, Jailcall and the Superfly..

may.. you all should know, how much I appreciate your friendship..

Regards to all and the families..

I had forgotten I posted that url so I looked at it again. Incredible! I
had missed the line where the Kerry campaign admitted the "V for valor" was
wrongly given to him. quote from Kerrys spin advisor: "It is waste of
taxpayer's dollars and the Pentagon's time, especially during wartime, to
investigate a 35-year-old Navy clerical error". Hey! Now if only Kerry can
say it was a mistake, we can stop talking about it. Unfortunitaly, that
navy admiral who got two improper "V for valor" took it personal and killed
    himself.

On a slightly different subject, at church today we were asked to pray for
both president Putin and president Bush. Last time I was asked to do that
was just after 9/11. I remember when growing up we were asked to pray for
the conversion of Russia, today we were asked to pray for conversion of
terrorists. I think I will just vote for Bush to kick some more ass
    instead.
