Tom Warner wrote Nowhere near as good as the report I read today that the merkin performing rights dudes are charging the Girl Guides for singing copyrighted songs round the camp fire. After a bit of a to and fro amongst their lawyers the merkin GG pays a dollar a year as a nominal royalty. The same article made reference to a recommendation from our very own Dept of Education that kiddies put the copyright mark on their schoolwork so that they can sue people for nicking it later. Although they did point out that perhaps this might be easier if the kiddies could actually write in the first place.
