Not that I don't believe you, G-S, but a link to a good source would
    be handy.

  2. SV650 motor made by people who don't pay as much attention as the
Japanese. The rest is what I have read on forums and how the
conversation goes 99% of the time. I have nothing against Hyosung but
after reading the horror stories you couldn't pay me to own one.

    How do you know that?
Hmmm... Please give me the names of some forums where I can read
these horror stories. I want to do my own research.
I'd say you've got plenty against Hyosung.

Good thing buying a Hyoung is not yet compulsory, eh...

I don't have online links to the respective workshop manuals but if you
can grab them you can see for yourself.

No worries. Pity though, because I wanted to gloat that I had an
SV650 motor in my bike. Wanted to impress Betty.

  7. Hopefully yours will be different. You could probably pay me to own
    one. : )

Hell, everyone said how crap VTEC is on the VFR800 and I love it on
mine. Great torque for around town pootling and terrific top end for
    country runs.

I keep finding excuses to go for rides. I think cruisers cause mental
illness because I find myself riding down the highway grinning like an
idiot and frequently guffawing loudly for no particular reason.

you're back on a road bike :) "Road Therapy" is a wonderful thing, heh

I doubt if any of us would recognise Normal if it bit us on the bum.

I doubt Normal would ever want to get that close.

As a rough guess, if it bites you on the bum, it may not be normal.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Yes they were. We considered it wise to get rid of it before the
    warranty ended.
I've also filled my wife's car with it for a while. She drives a KJ
Jeep with the Benz diesel engine. there were no problems with that.
    How would they know?

Depends. Subaru turbo charged engines similar to WRX (they can be in
other models) are only "safe" with high octane fuel (98 RON or
better). They can interrogate the software and identify high
anti-knock sensor activity, two and two make four. Damage caused by
using low octane fuel is clearly stated to be not covered by
    warrantee.
That fact alone led to my abandonment of the idea of buying a STI
version of the WRX, impressive though the other numbers may be. A trip
around Australia for example would be problematic warrantee wise.

  17. Just stick octane booster in it where you can't get 98 Ron petrol. I've
got a Liberty B4 with the same motor and not had a problem. To be
honest if you are cruising it across the nullabor it isn't going to be
    on boost anyway.

That's why they invented Octane boosters. I used the stuff for years in
a high comp engine which used to ping on 97RON super.
