Y reg, 14k on the clock at £3k, mint as a minty thing with FSH etc. Is there anything to know about the BMW (a brand I wouldn't normally look at) Any specific issues? I looked at the Transalp, but it's just too low in the seat for me. -- Ta! Nige Subaru WRX (54) Land Rover 101 GS/Ambi (Morph) KTM 520 SX
Ignore Lozzo's advice? ;-) I had one of these as a loaner a while back - seemed to be an OK bike but the weather protection was shite compared to my 1150GS. As it's a BMW I would simply expect it to have FSH (most of the newer BMWs are owned by people who are anal about stuff like this so it doesn't pay getting anything else). Have a poke around ukgser, I think they've got an F650 forum as well.
From a dealer too. Not a BMW dealer, but known to me -- Ta! Nige Subaru WRX (54) Land Rover 101 GS/Ambi (Morph) KTM 520 SX
Timo Geusch fumbled, fiddled and fingered: .... and www.f650.co.uk http://www.f650.com -- Steve Parry K100RS SE & F650 and a 520i SE Touring for comfort (not forgetting the SK90PY) http://www.gwynfryn.co.uk
I've had various F650 variants over the years as loan bikes. I like them in general although the 650GS is not the best in the range for me. As Timo says, the weather protection is not too good and I didn't like the gearing or the ergonomics. Of the F650s, the best one, IMO, is the 650CS Scarver. It has a bit of a fairing, a belt drive rather than chain and was a hoot around town. These are just personal preferences: try a 650GS, it is certainly better looking and the package might suit you. and you might find a for sale ad as DAS types often upgrade to the R-GS after a while
Bloody hell!!! Seats miles too low, can't use the rear brake safely. Bugger, I'll have a look at a GS adventure, see it's any better. -- Ta! Nige Subaru WRX (54) Land Rover 101 GS/Ambi (Morph) KTM 520 SX
