I would be too. Cheap "classic" insurance from Carole Nash, looks
reasonable and it is cheap - at the moment.

6 volt electrics though - no chance of a decent headlight and
kickstart prolly means the battery is either tiny or it doesn't have
one, just a magneto. No huge problem but an inconvenience I wouldn't
    like.

OTOH, I wouldn't like a scooter either so it'll be a step in the right
    direction for you ;-)

    Best of luck, fella.

  6. Doesn't look too bad...
If it stays under 500 quid, then yeah, why not. If it's
crap, you can alway contact the number 2 bidder after a couple
    of months...

I have to admit, the more sensible side of me [1] is starting to think that
its too much of an impulse buy, and the whole 6 v things making me doubt it
would be worth the hassle....gonna keep an eye on it though and see, I might
jump in a la last minute, or I might not.

    [1] Its not very big

ebay items are like buses used to be - there'll be another one along
in a minute. If you do buy it, I'll fucking guarantee you that a
better/newer/shinier/12v one will pop up and sell for less money
    within a couple of weeks.

Aside from all that, and as a genuine enquiry - what does your licence
entitle you to ride? Is it a full Class A, or what?

True, very true. Thou and Wizard speaketh the sense.
Ah well, that in itself is an issue, however Im putting in for my DAS within
the next month or so. Might as well, dont think i can be bothered with the
    whole 2 year thing.

    LOL, cheers for that :)
Never really thought about the seasonal pricing of bikes.
Way too much for a UKRMer :)

  14. Well, it fetched ukp400. Very reasonable price for a winter hack IMHO.
    Someone got a bargain.

I admit I didn't think it would go quite that high, but hey, good luck to
    the winner.

    EEeeyyyargh! Noooo!
You could do A LOT better than one of these.
I despatched around Leicester on one for about a year and it was the worst
bike I have ever had (I didn't own it so that was OK). Nasty, gutless,
uncomfortable, cam-chain chewing piece of badly-wired up crap.
Having said that, the spares off that one on eBay might be useful for the
    cousin SP400 we're building...
