Ah, but if he could, he would

That's the wrong answer, it just doesn't work like that

Medication for mental illness is very much a personal choice and taken
into consideration with doctors. Sweeping statements like that are
unhelpful as medication is sometimes required, at least temporarily,
sometimes for as long as one wishes to live a 'normal' life.

I don't think this is true.

I've more bread than I had 20 years ago but I eat more shit. Middle
management is the fucking pits, you get shit coming down (some of which
you have to absorb; I'm a great believer in 'the buck stops here') and
you have (on occasion) to be the face of the company and take shit
coming upwards- and on these occasions almost always absorb it.

I really couldn't think of anything more boring; whether they were
attracted to me or my wallet would be irrelevant- at 16 they'd have
nothing to discuss that I'd have the slightest interest in.

  12. Thankfully, I have no progeny. This should be cause for general

And let us know how you get on. I found that talking and letting
people know how I was coping/feeling helped a lot.Good luck...

I wonder how many ukrmers have suffered from depression to the point of
needing medication. It does seem to be a lot. Are there as many in the
    car group?

I don't see these kind of posts on any of the other groups I'm
    subscribed to.

  20. They showed up on alt.callahans and rec.arts.sf.fandom when I used to post
there. I've also seen some on a group that a bunch of us who know each other
in Real Life post to quite a bit - but that may simply be because we are
friends outside the virtual space, as it were, so tend to be more open? The
Shed has some very open conversations, too.
