  1. Went out this morning and decided to take the Bindit to work.
rearranged the garage, got it out, would the bugger start? nope.

rearranged the garage again, got the trumpet out, bimbled off down the
    road.

Got to the end to the bugger of a junction. downward slope, pulling
out to adverse camber and almost a u-turn onto a bend in the road
which you can see nothing either way.

go to pull out, glimpse out of the corner of my eye something
approaching, stop. only to find my foot waving in mid air.

    *thump*

I'm on the floor with the trumpet on top of me.

    bugger.

Two nice blokes stop and pick it up only to find there's no-where flat
enough to put the side stand down so on I get and bimble off to work
    swearing profusely.

Damage to bike - scratches & crack in RHS fairing panel, slight
scratch to top fairing, scratched engine casing and rear footrest
    hanger.

Damage to me - sore hip

Bound to happen sometime, could 've been worse.

Done that myself - put foot down on top of a crisp packet.

Apparently there is zero friction inside a crisp packet - it rolled
under my foot and slid far enough to get me from a "normal vertical"
position to "can just hold it up", then on through "probably a groin
strain here" and on to the "bugger" position.

You'll do anything to get blokes to pick you up, won't you?

  5. So what happened? I know you ended up on the floor but how did you get
there? What was the thing you saw out of the corner of your eye?
    That is a bugger.
When the nurse at A+E said that last time I needed to go, I said "yeah,
    I could've been riding a scooter" ;-)

  7. depends if I fix it or not. its only cosmetic which means as soon as I
fix it it'll happen again. knowing that junction it'll happen again
    soon.
no painkillers, just a bit of discomfort.

  8. as I started to pull forward I saw something coming. things along
there tend to be going quickly and given I need to do almost a U turn
to turn right on a fairly narrow road, doing it into oncoming traffic
    isnt a good thing.

so I stopped. unfortunately that meant that the front wheel was now
just about onto the road and higher. my leg was now in the gap (think
of a V with my foot at the lowest point and both wheels at the
    highest).
    nice.

  9. You want one of those concave mirrors on a stick, you do, help you see
    what's coming round the corner(s)
Oh shit, I've done that as well. Hurt me wrist trying to keep the bugger
    from falling but failed.

Get Andy to rub stuff into your hip :)

I had a moment like that with the Trophy once - turning left off the B4070
to go down Birdlip Hill, roll up to the stop line and find there's about six
inches of clear air between my outstretched left foot and the floor. Eek.
A few seconds of wobbly trials-rider stuff while I determine that it's safe
to emerge, then off down the hill, cursing...

Indeed, my first perpetual motion machine made extensive use of crisp

What sort of consistency though? Could it pass for cream (that's real cream,
