Ebay item 110248172000 The only really crap Jap twin I haven't yet owned.
US import with a non-standard paint job and the guy's talking more about the additional chrome he bothered the bike with rather than its overall condition. I dunno...
Jeez. When you say really crap you're right. When we started sidecar racing it was with a kneeler chassis'd BSA 650 with 750 Devimead conversion, fast as feck but a little fragile, and broke down every second oir third race. Someone 'gave' us a nearly new one of these engines .. which either stopped or blew up just about every friggin' race ... and this was around the time of this bike. Couple of yuears later I borrowed one to ride to Brands Hatch and back, from Doncaster. Slow, handled like kwackers of old, and kept cutting out. I vowed never to ride, own or even touch one again after that trip, it was absoilutely dire. I'd suggest that if you buy this you're lost it good and proper. Unless, of course you're Kawasaki mad and this would fill a gap between the Z1 and H1 ... -- Paul - xxx '96/'97 Landrover Discovery 300 Tdi 'Big and Butch' '98 Suzuki DR 200 Djebel being Nige'd 140227689195 Dyna Tech Cro-Mo comp "When I feel fit enough'
Oh, I've ridden one before, decades ago. Slow as ****, torquey, heavy, handled OK, vibrated more than it should. It's just that I have a sort of personal crusade to own every shite Jap twin from the 1970s. I've had a Honda CJ250, CB360, CB500T, Yamaha XS500, XS400 and Kawasaki Z400[1]. And I ned the Z750 to complte the set. [1] Actually, I rather liked this one. It was 'honest'.
PML, it'll fit right in, on that list ... ... and as they go this one looks at least clean, though the bars look a tad Fonzie for my tastes. -- Paul - xxx '96/'97 Landrover Discovery 300 Tdi 'Big and Butch' '98 Suzuki DR 200 Djebel being Nige'd 140227689195 Dyna Tech Cro-Mo comp "When I feel fit enough'
In message A friend owned one attached to a chair. One day as he pulled away from the lights approx 30 percent of all the spokes failed in the real wheel. That was the final straw as he'd only just got it back on the road from some other failure. It also had to be re-wired too. I have nothing but horrible memories of it.
I thought you had a 750 a bit back? Mind, that looks rather horrid - it seems to have the bars from a 750 Ltd on it, without the rest of it.
I know a chap with possibly the most immaculate one of those you'll ever see, and he'd more than likely sell it as he's not used it for about 6 years. (Must be crap...)
It's done around 22k miles, it's pretty near perfect, green (similar to on the Z1), paint isn't original but it's not hiding any bodges and is a /properly/ nice job, chrome looked mint last time I saw it, owned by an MOT tester friend of mine who's had it for years but not used it for about 4 or 5 years so there's no MOT or tax on it. He is, however, an insanely fussy MOT tester and mechanic so it'll be right. He last fired it up about a month ago, new battery, plugs, oil etc, and said it could do with a bit of fettling to get it running right, but he's not had time yet. Will get some pics up as soon as he goes home and takes them. He'd like around £650 for it, but wait til you see the pics.
I was under the impression you'd had one, albeit briefly. They are shite; though to be fair, if looked after they keep going reasonably well. They have a tendency to deteriorate horribly quickly if left un-fettled for any length of time.

Gods own end of the country. Warrington. Gimme a shout in a couple of weeks. Might even dig it out of the garage and clean it.
