Ummm... not really. I've damaged the soft tissue around my left hip
joint. I can (barely) put weight on it, but can't really lift the leg up
properly. Even with crutches, walking is a very slow process at the moment.

Took me over 5 minutes to get from the car to the living room. You've
been to our house, you know how far that is - work out my average speed
    for yourself.

Components in other areas don't appear to be interested in play at all,
and I'm hoping they stay that way until some of the cuts heal properly,
    thankyouverymuch.

Bugger. Probably a wise decision not to then, athough we could get you
    a wheelchair...

I quite fancied having a tank for the paintballing, but I suspect some
people might see that as an unfair advantage.

    That'd be less paint-balling, more paint-mortar-ing.

"Jeff man! Ah cannae walk! Mi leg's come off!"

Update: spoke to our tame mechanic this morning, and not only is the
usual stuff knackered (headlight, clocks, fairing, oil cooler, etc.),
but apparently it's also managed to actually split the headstock, which
he says is quite unusual - usually one of the welds fails first.

That'll be "beyond economic repair" then, I guess.

    Streetfighter unicycle!

Anyway, tell the motley crew what the car driver's open line to the coppers
    was!

Whale oil beef hooked (as someone once said); you've done a proper job
on that one then. Easy writeoff decision, at least.

Hmmm... unfortunately, I'm not particularly good at wheelies.
Oh, yeah, this should be good for a giggle:

"I work for the DVLA, and that motorcycle is not displaying a valid tax
    disk."

.... and that's meant to be some sort of excuse, is it?

Unfortunately for our third party, at least two of the coppers on the
scene happened to be bikers, so I don't think he's particularly in their
favour to start with, and with that statement as an opening line...
    well... should be interesting, anyway.

It's an indication of the quality of the welding on Aprilia frames. Or
possibly an indication of the lack of quality of their headstocks.
Just a bit. Can't wait to have a look at it.
I think you'll find it pleasantly amusing.

  11. You'll get better...
I'm struggling for something witty to say here.[1]

I'll put it down to the shock of causing an accident.
    heh. heh heh heh.

Jeezus. Is that the latest DVLA tactic up there, then. Glad I moved,
    if that's the case.
Still, makes a change from SMIDSY, I s'pose.
    Educational, one would hope.

"Down the Runhead, with Andy and Mick", as was predicted some months ago.

I suspect I'll still be on the painkillers, mind, so it's not going to
    be very exciting.

That would involve me buying back the salvage, which I suspect isn't
worth it just to get 50quid for the engine.

I'll have to see what state it's in, and take some advice from the tame
    mechanic.
