Dazzlingly obvious: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13143206 "Lightmare". Heh.
I was listening to an article on R4 about this yesterday, and the - to me - bizarre argument being put forward against their use is that they were "unfair" to drivers who didn't have them.
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, darsy <sigh> It's sad when a perfectly legitimate beef is argued for by mongs.
I only do around 2500 miles a year guv, and mostly in daylight so it dont count, but your right, twat is so much better than ****. Alan --
It seems to me that they are obviously not a threat or risk to anyone as there have not been that many prosecutions regarding their use.. How many thousands of them have driven past gatso vans and had their photo taken and yet not a single prosecution for using them? Zero is how many, my argument rocks.
Every fucker in that article entirely missed the point - the HIDs fitted by cuntstains to ordinary headlamp units are causing 99% of the problem. HIDs in lampbodies and lenses designed for them are fine. Another thing, the useless twats lump 50% brighter xenon lamps in with HIDs - not the same thing at all.
Disagree. I have been dazzled many times by HIDs and the worst offender? Porsche Cayenne - I reckon they're badly adjusted. I do agree that fitting the aftermarket ones isn't necessarily the best thing to do, but I have fitted them to my bikes.

I'll never fit them to my bikes - I don't like the thought that I could dazzle some poor bastard and have him move into my path as a result. -- Lozzo Versys 650 Inter-Continental Hyperbolistic Missile , CBR600F-W racebike in the making, TS250C, RD400F (somewhere) BMW E46 318iSE (it's a car, not one of those 2-wheeled pieces of shite they churn out)
More than likely. It was the same when halogens came into mainstream use - the number of badly adjusted headlamps was really noticeable.
Neither agree nor disagree - I think the kiddies who've wacked an eBay HID kit into their Corsas are the worst offenders, but I'm dazzled on a regular basis by vehicles which prolly have HID as OE. I remember leading Elly back from Swindon in the dark, when she had the CBR. Her lights were so much brighter than mine on the Bandit with an 80/100W bulb in, I was riding in my own shadow, or so it seemed. I couldn't see a damn thing. Awful.
