no. i dont want a map for where i can sail a boat, i want to know where i
can ride me bike off tarmac and get up the noses of thermos flask and pointy
stick brigade, but be legal so they cant do owt about it,
but at the moment i want to do it alone, not with a group, and the trials
i'm thinking of are very gentle, i used to drive my mini down some of them
    many moons ago.

i've had a search of the peak district web site, and it says to buy
something called a paper map, wtf is one of them, i use a gps :) but it also
warns that paper maps with boats listed arent to be taken as gospel, as they
    close boats all the time.

it also says check the relevent councils highways department, the peak
district is split into about 7 different ones, and only the chester one has
an online map with their boats listed, and i dont want to go that far north.

i'm more interested in the area to the west of sheffield, below snake pass,
specificaly right now i want to ride upto robin hoods cave, i know you can
park and walk, but i have spazzy legs and can't manage that walk, (wonder if
i could disguise a transalp to look like a spasticle carrige)
The sattelite photo's of where the cave is shows a wide well used lane from
the road to that bunch of rocks, but it could just be from the millions of
climbers who have walked the route.

I also want to ride around other green lanes in that area, i did a lot of
rock climbing when i was at school in that area, and always remember people
riding trials bikes in that area, but this was back in the early '90's, back
when you were allowed to do a lot more things in this cuntry and before that
tara palmer bollock face got in on the act of moaning at anyone having fun.

Idealy i'd like a gps overlay that i can use which lists them, as i use the
gps on my bike anyway, but even an online map showing the boats that are
open now in the peaks would be handy.

most excelent, tar muchly for that,

not found a gps overlay yet, but the link to the online map with the boats
and suchlike overlaid is handy, found out that there's no boat to the the
    robin hoods cave area, bugger,

but there are some nearby, so i'll make a trip up there when the weathers
nice again... which is supposed to be tommorow, but i'm supposed to wait in
for the damn plumber as the boilers fucked, but i just know if i wait in,
he'll not turn up, and if i go out, he'll ring me just as i get to snake
pass saying he'll be at my house in 5 minutes.
