At 2 minutes before midnight Marina left us...

There are 2 pieces of poetry that I am proud of. I would like to share
    one of them with you...

If I am very careful, I can gently put my ear to her chest and listen
    to her heartbeat.
She breaths in once every ten beats, eleven times a minute.
I can hear the air being taken in through her mouth, but it comes out
    almost silently.
I can see her chest rise with each breath and within that I can see
    her heart beating.

Sometimes we would lie with our head on the others chest or stomach,
listening to the funny noises coming from each others internal
    plumbing.
We would try to describe or do impersonations of what we could hear.
When one of us had made the other laugh sufficiently,we would swap
    around.
The most interesting sounds would come an hour or so after eating.

I can see a pulse on the side of her neck and she smells of clean
linen with the faintest hint of soap.
Her forehead is smooth and flat. There are no frown lines, there are
no laughter lines, her face is totally rellaxed.

If I very carefully put my ear to her tummy, there is nothing to
describe or do an inpersonation of.
The shoulders I used to wrap my arms around and hug, feel boney,
The cheeks I used to kiss and feel move with a smile, stay still and
    don't respond.
And when I say what I am feeling inside, my words fall on deaf ears.

    Marina Mayes.
    1951 - 2010.
    RIP.

I remember an evening god knows how many years back when the two of us
were pissed out of our glowing little faces, sat on the floor in
AndrewR's living room, communicating only using the word "moo".

Still makes me chuckle to this day.

    RIP Marina.

Well Im feeling amazingly chipper. I feel like Ive turned a corner. Im
not going to tell you that I dont still get down or burst into
tears... But I feel like a load has been lifted...
We had an amazing 10 ana half years of marriage. It was brilliant and
I never forget that. I think the one year thing was perhaps a mental
barrier or hurdle that Id set myself, I dunno.
Marina was an amazing person, she touched everyone she came into
contact with and I am so much richer and better for having shared are
time together. Ill always miss her, thatwont ever go away, however I
do feel that my cup is half full rather than half empty. In fact,
    prolly more than half...

Life, I think, is rather good...

Heh, I remember asking Marina about the Moo thing ( I think you both
did a cow-horn salute?) and she said "Its our thing, leave it
    alone..."

Did you and Marina get Zombied together? A cocktail introduced by Bear
(ex of this parish - where is he now? Prolly got a life outside of
UKRM, good for him. Be nice to know hes OK).

Your place, Derby, in the snow? Champ & co. running off naked into the
back garden to roll in the snow> I think I pissed off Snowy & Champ at
some point late in the soir...

Champ noodled away on (your?) guitar...

    Chilli on the stove...

    Happy days...

    If she could, "Moo!"

It's not, actually. But if you can live with the illusion that it is, then
more power to your elbow. You're a better man than I.
