Here it is again.. Time for another great ride.. We'll be leaving
on Saturday the 24th .. The Mexican will be there by that time,as
she will be flying out Friday the 23rd, in the evening..

Everyone in Guadalajara is telling me that the weather is perfect
and they'll be expecting us.. Our host at the VIP ranch is planning
yet another great tour and fiesta, in our honor..

I'm told that our rooms are ready and just waiting.. With all that
    hospitality, I can't wait.. lol..

The ride this year is being planned just a bit different .. We'll be
travelling the highway to the north of Durango and should have a
fun trip through the Copper Canyon, where the trains runs.. That
would mean that we'd cross the border at a different crossing, this
year.. Instead of crossing at Laredo, we'll be crossing at Del Rio..

From there, we'll find our way to Chihuahua City and then on over
to Sonora.. From there, we'll find our way to the south and go to
Durango and then Mazatlan.. Who could ask for more.. two of the
most exciting motorcycle highways in North America.. with the
    Devils' Backbone included..

The trip from Mazatlan south to Guadalajara should be pretty much
routine, with a nice run along the coast..

Being limited on time, this year.. there won't be more than a couple
of days in the city, to enjoy that historic environment, but the trip
back to the U.S. is always an adventure of it's own.. Depending on
the time we have left, there are two excellent choices for that part
of the trip.. We can either make the mountain run, through Jalpa
and Zacatecas, or we can take the Autopisto which bypasses those
beautiful mountains.. Not my favorite route, but like I said, our time
    may be limited ..

Let's get it on the road.. I'm getting anxious, as usual at this stage
    of the run..

There'll always be another run down that way, Jerry.. You take good care
of yourself and get in shape for the next one.. If something isn't in the
    mill
    and planning, we'll invent a run.. how's that ?

The schedule and itinerary that was posted has changed slightly since I
posted it.. Seems like there is some conflict in the "time away from work"
arrangements and the time limitations will limit how much sightseeing we'll
be able to do.. We'll be scheduling another run to the Copper Canyon run
and dedicate a full week.. so we can see and appreciate more of that very
scenic area.. As it stands now, we'll have barely one week to do the Guad-
alajara visit, run up the coast to Mazatlan and then ride the Devil's
    Backbone
through Durango and Torreon.. It'll still be a trip to write home about and
    I'm
sure that no one will be disappointed.. Next time, pard.. Regards

The ones to be disappointed will surely be the ones who don't make the
    ride....

Oh yeah, to your comment about "another run"....I don't know about
you, but I'm getting too old for all this. I might just have to invest
in a trailer and start hauling my motorcycle around.

I wonder if anyone here might have some suggestions from experience
    with this idea?

Dont take any advise from you know who over there. He seems to tear
shit up when trying to fool with trailers like screws..BIG oil
    leaks..ect....

Oh, now you went and done did it!

You ain't saying Bjay tore his "Mighty Valk" up trying to get it on a
    trailer, is ya?

That's just pure dispicatabul! Bjay would NEVER be caught trying to
load that bike on a trailer! You just must'a heard it wrong!

You just wait, you! When Bjay finds out what sort of tall tale you
just laid on him, he'll be right here to set you straight. I know
Bjay, and if he tore his motosickle plumb up on a trailer, it was
because he was riding too blamed fast and that trailer just jumped out
a nowhere and run into him!

It shore wasn't 'cause he was trying to load that sickle up on a
trailer and haul it no 170 miles to ride it 36 miles with you boys and
then haul it back on that trailer 170 miles....over the coarse of a
    weekend!

I "hauled" that Green Vulcan one time.. Damned sidestand was down and
some of the roads I went over was pretty bad.. That motorcycle bounced
on that thing and bent the hell out of it.. Sheesh.. the motorcycle stores
    are
    sure proud of those things..

The new carburetor for a Green Vulcan costs almost five hundred.. Shoulda'
heard me scream, when I found that out.. hmmm.. The tail light assembly is
priced about two hundred, and.. all I needed was the wiring harness ..
    Sheesh,
these guys are sure proud of their shit, aren't they ?

Yeah, I hauled mine once. It was a borrowed trailer and my motorcycle
was in downtown Dallas with a flat. I had a trailer to haul it to the
closest auto parts store so I could get a plug and a few cans of fix-
it-up. I rode it home then to the motorcycle store to buy another
    tire.

With your trailering, it wasn't like the only thing on that trailer.
It looked like you were moving and it was where again? Mexico, that
you hauled your motorcycle to? I heard also that you rode a big part
    of the way too....

Ever trailered your motorcycle 170 miles to ride with a bunch of other
riders and then trailer back 170 miles?

We might've figured out why Bjay couldn't go to Mena....his trailer
    was in the shop!

Got a couple of little problems with leaving Friday afternoon, that early..
The Mexican flies out at 6:20 PM on Friday .. After I drop her at DFW, I can
leave anytime.. Leaving late in the afternoon on Friday would sure give us a
little bit of a jump on the trip, wouldn't it ? Whatever works with you
    guys will
    be fine with me.. Regards..

    Let us pray...

Oh great God of good, if the stars are aligned and the fates are sated
and my bribes find the right hands, the border patrol will do their
job and never again will the Walker boys grace these great shores of
    the U.S. with their presence.

    Thank you, Jesus.

    Amen.

Pride in their product has nothing to do with it.

Take a moment to understand certain basics of manufacturing. Tooling.
Materials. Demand. All for a relatively low quantity of production.

Economics 101 - if there are fewer items of one type than of other
types, they are probably more valuable. ie... motorcycle parts just
cost more. It's part of ownership.

Oh, well, I certainly don't want that, now do I? I guess I'll say no,
    then.
