Got up and went through the receipts to discover that Christmas was a
lot more expensive than I'd thought.

The cage insurance renewal lands on the mat.

As does bike tax; realised that the previous disk has zero road miles on
    it. Shame.

Take the missus' cage in to get the tyres checked and find that 3 of the
    4 are illegal.

And then the element goes on that oh so expensive SMUG cooker.

At least tomorrow I get to see Burnt in a dress.

    Apparently.

Today I suggested to the mrs that I take us to the canaries for a week.

She wasn't particularly keen, but did say she fancied a day-trip to
    Manchester.

Question for the FOAK - is she brain-damaged?

    Are you brain damaged ?

You're supposed to say here's the money for a days shopping in
Manchester, I'll see you when I get back from the canaries in a weeks time.

Heh, it's the lost in translation between the sexes thing.

I've just read the chapter about married couples in Daniel Golemans
"Emotional Intelligence", aptly titled "Intimate Enemies". Wish I'd
read it a long time ago !
