So I was sitting there, on-and-off reading Usenet and doing an epic solo on
the one-stringed guitar, my 3rd or 4th can of Fosters sitting beside me, a
discarded own-brand Cornetto rip-off slowly melting away, listening to the
CD of Tony Christie's great hits that my dad copied for me.

And it suddenly crossed my mind, "There's something wrong with this
    picture".

But after a couple more cans of Fosters it seemed alright again, so maybe it
    was just me.

Now about this woman at work who said 'I'm reading a great book' then
revealed it was The DaVinci Code. What's the best way to deal with it?

Is there something wrong with it? It's currently on my table waiting
to be read, but I'm not done with the current book yet.

  17. I did wonder who would pick that up. And had you (or LN) down as the
    prime candidates.

Predictability - the curse of the thinking classes. Or UKRM.

I take it it wasn't popular then? I must admit that I skim over most
book threads as I've got more than enough to be going on with at the
    moment.

<fx:thinks> How bad was it, and if a girl recommended it as being
fantastic should I never see her again?
