Not seen it, but the reviews I read/heard weren't exactly glowing. I
think Mark Lawson said it was a book "of its time" that "didn't work"
when translated to the screen.

I enjoyed reading it when I was at school but wouldn't describe it as my
favourite Spike Milligan. (That's the sad one with the ballerina.)

The honour of favourite book "that hasn't been read for a while, seeing
as I've mentioned it, I might re-read soon" is "In Dubious Battle" John
Steinbeck.

 

Where is this pub? In relation to me it's likely to be north, but how
north?

If it's going to be shown, let me know the date. Having a supply of
DVDs, if they're as good as you say, would probably be a top idea.

I wasn't taking the piss, Brighton - Harlow is only 170 mile round trip.
Not even a tank of fuel. Less than a trip for the BOTAFOT or about the
same a Sarratt.

But I'd be happy to take up the offer.

 

I was thinking - if you were going to have a few beers.
