I reckon Galtieri knew as well as Thatcher did that there was no way he
could get away with landing those troops. If he thought he could, the
ship wouldn't have spent 36 hours dithering about just outside the
exclusion zone. He'd have steamed in and out ASAP to get the ship away
before the UK task force got any stronger.

 

Ah, the bit that does make it look as if the Falklands/Malvinas are part of
someone elses continent then.
