[/QUOTE] The Sheffield was a modern surface to air missile carrying warship actively engaged in shooting down Argie planes at the time it was hit IIRC. It had also been shelling or missiling Argie positions on the Island hadn't it? I freely admit my memory is a bit hazy on this, but if the above is the case then I'd call the hitting of the Sheffield more a legitimate act in a 'hot' conflict than using a sub to sink a troop carrier many miles from the island. Both the Brits and the Argies knew there was no chance of landing those troops. Having the ship near the exclusion zone perimeter was a stupid piece of posturing on the part of Galtieri, but that doesn't excuse the crassly murderous action of Maggie and her yes men IMO.
