That's what I originally thought, but chucked my version
into Google and got plenty of hits so changed my mind.

www.dicionary.com allows both, as well as Chanukah.

  10. Just preventing me from following it in public..
Do you truely believe that seeing someone else in religious
    garb damages you?

It was pretty bloody recent in historical terms.

  15. Except by banning any outward signs of religion on their property..
Do you really think that it won't have that effect?
You miss (probably deliberately) my point - the state is
discriminating against religion. This will have the effect of
teaching children that religion is OK to be discriminated
against. Which is only a very short hop away from the concept of 'any
religion except mine should be discriminated against'.
    Bigot.

  16. "School" is a subset of "public".
Then why do you object to it? By your own admission it causes you
    no harm!

IIRC, over the last couple of years, there have been a few synagogues
that have been attacked (by muslim youths in all cases, IIRC) so Des,
    again, is talking bollox.

Are just three press articles I found. Yes, yes, in French, but you
    get the point.

  20. Where do you get this fixation on "France burning"? My phrase was
)and still is) "the French" not "France".

Or do you maintain that the "Arab youth" were not "French"?
They had French citizenship which makes them (by your own definition)
"French" and you racist to call them otherwise..
