We get free posh water, tea/coffee, cup-a-soup and free beer.

I also get paid a coffee allowance every month. You know, for when I'm
    on site.

You think you're hard done by? In a certain office in Frogland there's a
vending chamine wot sells the smart cards you need to buy coffee. They
    charge €4.30 for one.

How I laughed when I discovered that the €4.30 card doesn't have any
credit on it, that's just the cost of the card.

Yep, we have the same identical cards £2 IIRC.

However there is another machine on site that you can put said card into
and get a refund of any money on it.. then it's value.

What pisses me off about the whole system is that there's frequently £5
of my money sat in the catering firm's bank account.

  5. You, a chocoholic!? - I'm shocked.
Well that just about answers a question I was going to ask you - "are
you enjoying your new job?". Sounds like you are.

  6. No, but I've been to plenty of venues run by money-grabbing cunts.

Is this separate to your id? I've always used my id card in those
    machine.
That is the pain in the arse of it. Particularly in my case when it's
a few months in between visiting offices.

  9. Eeeeh well, you live and learn. While you famously allege to have no
taste buds and to care even less about how things taste I would
recommend a very occasional treat of good quality chocolate. It
genuinely is something altogether different and wonderful.

I treat myself to one of these (smaller) boxes once a year.

Wonderful and you get treated like royalty in the shop which makes a
    great change.
Jolly good - nice to see that worked out OK.

Some people have the chip on their ID cards. Those with older ID cards
    don't.

    It's still a PITA though.

Sales weasels visiting our company usually get offered free drinks if
they go in through reception but if they just wander into the
workshops (as most do) they're expected to put their hand in their
pocket and buy a few coffees. Failure to comply results in a failure
    to get any orders.
