I'm on the scrounge for, or links to a cheap supplier of, one of those
    metal motorcycle storage sheds.

I'm moving and the house we're likely to get does not (yet) have a
garage. Long term I'll build one but in the time being, I'd like to
keep my bike locked up overnight, so I don't want to have to fork out
    for a new one.

eBay's fairly sparse on this sort of item.

Any help, pointers to suppliers gratefully accepted.

Any "move to a less pikey planet" posts will ... etc.

I know you reckoned you did'nt want to fork out etc ... but that one is 900
quid .. for half that price (ish) would'nt

this do the job and be useful once the garage is built for garden tools etc.

Get yourself a Bike Barn[1] and a decent ground anchor.

[1] Not metal but can be locked shut.

I absolutely agree. I have just aquired a Bike Barn for the Harley to
overwinter in. Really impressive piece of kit for only £235 inc VAT and
delivery (see ebay item number: 250038238698). It took less than an hour to
assemble and works a treat. It can be bolted to the ground and the cover
can be locked down. You can even get a heater to keep it frost free.

    You were robbed ;o)
You can also buy a light for it.

Bad form but after some research, I reckon that's what mine cost. I
remember they had to ship it UPS from Canada so not bad really and less
than a week to deliver it.

    <eBays>

Yes, ptiproducts is where mine came from ,too.

    You got a bargain, monsieur.

  7. For less than that you could get a short container. For that price you
    could get a 40'er.

Sound advice on the bike barn front. As a temporary measure I may well
go down that route. 6 foot of chain with the ends showing and 1/4 ton
    of concrete should do it.

Noted, ta, but it really would be as a temporary measure until garage
was built, so I think the chain & cement option would come in "on
    budget".

I like your thinking, sir. Where does one source a short container?

  13. Couldn't find a price anywhere on that site for anything. Not even in
the FAQs is there a "How much?" indicator.

They say that prices vary by region, so you need to submit an enquiry to
    get a price.

I've been tempted to get a 20 foot container - my local council have
loads of land for rent at really low prices, but don't currently have
    any garages available.

Surely the taillight on your bike will act as sufficient theft
deterent. Though obviously you might want to take precautions against
it being gang raped by a troop of baboons.

    <thinks>
So why am I so worried about it being stolen?

    Cheers Champ - problem solved!
