On Melancholia

  1. I am not really very happy living on my own. I miss my family.

I get by, I've got things to do and the odd place to go and for the most
part it isn't a problem but every now and then something will happen
that reminds me that my space is now all mine and that other than me it
    is empty space.

Take this morning for example. You know how it is, every now and then
the washing machine pump or the shower drain would get clogged with fur
and I could always blame the wimmin? Well I can't anymore and it sort
of makes me feel a little sad.

Hey ho my pot is half full. I was planning on mounting an expedition
and going deep into that particular deep dark corner of my kitchen with
cleaning tools and harmful chemicals anyway.

I'm going out for a ride as soon as the rain blows over. I shall be a

    good.

I've got to run the SO to her art class, go to Sainos, go to B&Q (gah!)
and if the rain goes over, I might pop down for the walking thing in
    London later on.

    Exciting stuff, eh?

Oh, and I have to try and fix my 7R.

I have got to give Veggie a lift to Wisbech to get his bike back from
    repair.

What's worse, having Veggie as a car passenger or going to Wisbech?

    Place bets now .......

I've never met Veggie, but I have been to Wisbech. Veggie would have to be a
B.O reeking, flatulant, ranting loony with a tendency to befoul his pants
to be worse than a wet afternoon in Wisbech.

There is only one thing in the world worse than living alone,
and that is not living alone.

Wales? Lots of sex, no commitments, although
that lanolin is a bugger to wash out of your clothes.

    I can imagine.
Indeed - you could be sharing your space with the wrong person.

Have mine, no, go on, they'll brighten the place up, cheer you with
their happy voices. Until you get close enough to hear what they are
    saying.

    <vague remembered fact DAMFAR>

Happiness [1] stakes go something like

Single women Married men. Married women. Single men.

So you're starting from a disadvantage. I loved the 4 years I lived
    alone.

  20. I've lived on my own for seven years. I've lived with girlfriends before
that but then I was in my twenties and didn't want the responsibility.

More recently though, when my missus stayed with me for a few days I
loved it. It was like "coming home" and felt like how I'd want it to
    always be.

It's great having mates and going out and stuff but sometimes it would
be nice to have someone special here.
