Obviously, when she said that, she meant engine designs at least
    25 years old ...

The primary reason Gerry's changed his nic so many times is because he
    remains unloved.

Being killfiled is a willy-sagging experience for him.

um, don;t believe I was actually conversing with you.

Nice to see you jerking at the end of the chain still :)

And true to form, resorting to casting sordid lil names as your train of
    thought dries up.

    try googling "fart diogenes gerry"

Nah, the only result would be that we'd run out of trees. Then we'd have
to start making crucifixes out of recycled printer cartridges.

Hmm, that's OK, a lightweight plastic cross would be fine, but there's
no reason you couldn't recycle the used wooden ones, they don't have to
    be a one use only

(maybe we could follow the old traditions and line the road with the
bodies to remind the cagers what happens if they **** up)

Actually I was more thinking it was like The Poms playing Zimbabwe...
everyone knows that Zimbabwe plays cricket too, but no one cares.

25 years ago was 1980, by then it was GS1000 Suzukis and Z1000 Kawasakis
and CB900 Hondas mostly. The british bike industry had already shot
itself in the foot by then.

There were some nice (if rather high maintenance) ducatis around, and
some tourer types were buying BMW's and there were a few Guzzis and La
    Verdas around.

But 90% plus of the market was Japanese bikes... and they were basically
as reliable then as now (if nowhere near as good handling!).
