I'm sure knowingly let some ride without insurance may be an offence.
*Unknowingly* simply can't be an offence. Otherwise we'd all have to
go round checking everyone else's documents all the time. You'd never
get out of Sainsbury's car park, for a start.

I can't think of any reason for someone not to buy my bike based on the
test ride. If they don't like the test ride then they don't like 600cc
    Bandits.
And look at the state of that ;-)

  3. I think the test ride is for finding out if anything rattles or if the
brakes don't work etc, rather than not liking 600cc Bandits.
It looks better now with straight bars on it.

Agreed, if you want to see if you like a model then try your friendly
    dealer first!
I saw the pic you posted the other day and liked it but couldn't resist
    the mickey take before.

Ok, I'll check this out. Is a uk.legal x-post in order perhaps?
Now that would save me a google..

  6. It looks better now but will put a picture up when I've got the switches
sorted out, and the throttle. I changed the twist grip today but the
thing is so stiff it is bordering on dangerous.

I'm trying to think if a dealer has ever checked my insco docs before
handing over the keys to a car/bike. I don't think they have BICBW.

ISTR letting someone without a licence ride two of my bikes in the
    space of an hour.

I let someone who was banned have an extended ride on one of my bikes,
and rode a bike he'd "borrowed".

or another point of view: don't bother with test rides.

I've bought <fx: thinks> 5[1] second hand bikes since moving to
England, and didn't bother with a test ride on any of them.

I've also sold <fx: thinks again> 6[1] bikes to private buyers in the
same time, and none of them asked for a test ride.

[1] there's something wrong with my logic as I have 3 more bikes now
    than I did then[2].
[2] it's just occured to me that I also bought 4 new bikes in this
    time.

I think I probably would have anyway, but it would have been nice to
know /before/ he rode my bike.
He'll not be doing it again, at any rate.

of course, it wasn't helped by Champ, almost immediately forgetting
we'd swapped bikes, riding along side me and flicking off the blade's
    killswitch.
