    Me either. It's very you.

I presume all the fasteners are metric, nowadays?

You presume wrong, at least on my '97.

They're a charming blend of AF, WW, and Metric. With the odd BSC thread
thrown in to keep the amusement factor up. I haven't found any BA yet,
but I'll bet there's at least one somewhere.

Because a Kawasaki ER5 is a much better bike for less cash.

BA? On the shelf, next to the PP.

They were all in the fridge of course, but it's cold enough now to
    keep them outside.

I had one of those, and I loved it. It was quite quick for what it was,
and had that nice bop bop bop type sound.

    Nah. Nice idea though.

And don't think I haven't been tempted by the new Bonnie and it's clones
either. The 50/60's was the best ever era for motorcycle styling that
ever there was. A profusion of plastic and the inline 4 have just about
fucked up any chance of a bike actually looking good forever.

Bear said that as well. It worries me slightly that:

    a) you agree
    b) I am so easily definable.
Dunno. I am going to have a look in the local dealers later this week,
I'll have an ask. I'll ask if they do any tuning kits as well.

What's not to like? It's a big CG125 (mshpr); cheap, light and Japanese.

I admit the Bullet stirs a set of memories. But old British bikes (or copies
thereof) don't start and go in the same way that modern bikes do.

Simply compare 50 bhp with 22 bhp.

My ER5 has done very little work, 11000 miles in 6 summers - but it's never
let me down - I would be astonished if it had.. Further, it will require
very little effort to keep it doing the same thing for another 30 000 miles.
I bung new oil in it every 3000 miles and change the filter every other go.
I drip a bit of lube on the O-ring chain, I give it a wash now and again. I
expect I will have to give the shims a look in about 10000 miles time -
compare that with adjusting tappets twice a year. I haven't even had to buy
    it new pads or shoes.

You can buy a decent ER5 for 1200 ukp - this is as cheap as a decent
mountain bike - or several other things fellow UKRMers could think of.

The question is not; why buy a Bullet? But, Why not buy an ER5?

Compare a Bullet with an ER5 - what does the Bullet do better?

The only answer I can come up with relates to image - does image beat sense?

Seat height is an issue that I simply cannot compromise on.
