Is it OK to put, 15W40 oil in the SOB? yamaha Xj900 (very pre diversion)
    it's reasonable stuff, Texaco Havoline

manual reccomends 20w40 for summer use, but i can't get any locally.
so what do you think, will it be OK?

*Perfectly* OK. I use 15W-40 Mobil Delvac 1300, or 15W-40 Chevron Delo 400,
or 15W-40 Shell Rotella in all my bikes.

  4. it's the 40 bit that's most critical, being as that's the hot viscosity.

changed the oil in the SOBoxer the other day (must get it a new oil filter
sometime) and it made it considerably smoother.

SOBoxer has the advantage of not running the same oil in the gearbox.

Thanks, thought so, but it would be just my luck for it to fry like chip
    oil!

  6. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Dave Eades"
    Yes, no problem.
