  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Linger"
Just not enough of that can be produced, I'm afraid. I'm into biodiesel
and vegoil as fuel, but it's strictly minority interest. The amount of
dinofuel that's consumed by vehicles alone is staggering.

And experience dictates that the Merkins will go to war if necessary
    to protect their share.

I recall hearing an artical on the radio about alternative power cars,
and that there's a whole chemical industry in the north that produced
the substances needed as a by-product. If the distribution to
consumers bit was put in it would be a very cheap alternative, but
no-one seems bothered about getting the thing going. I wish I could
    remember more about it.

Either that or he doesn't know the appropriate *nix commands to
    actually do what he wants.

Indeed. Read the other day that there are no companies making typewriters
    anymore, which seems a shame.

I suppose the modern day equivalent would be the call centre.

What I want to know is what happened to the 'leisure society' that
computers were supposed to bringing us.

Just look at the number of ex computer professionals having a 'rest'
    now.
