These big helmets of yours (fnarr) - specifically Nitros - any
recommendation for a North Londonish/Hertfordshirish shop wot sells
    them?

Colin Collins in Pinner Road, Harrow. Ask to speak to Chris or Simon
    and mention my name.
Yamaha Sport and Leisure on Kenton Road, Harrow. Speak to Lyndsey and
    do the same.

Colin Collins in Watford also stock them, but they are outside my area
so you won't want to go there, cos I won't get the commission on the
    re-order :)

What model are you looking for?

  3. Talking about commission, do you need a nice std screen for your K1?

No ta. They are way too low. Even the double bubble screen I have is
    too low.

Used to have a reasonably attractive sales woman there - engaged (I think)
to one of hte sales bods.

Personally I found the servicing lot a bunch of over charging, imcompetant
[1]cnuts - but maybe that was just for me.

[1] got the bike back after a service to find the rear brake lever pointing
at the floor - they had somehow missed this on the post inspection ride.[2]
[2] scottoiler with no delivery pipe attached.[3]
[3] four hours to fit a set of tyres - during the week.

    And so on.

Lozzo scribbled on the back of a napkin:
Is there any danger of ABH if I do? :)
Heh. WTF did you think I was asking? Eh?
One of the mid-range model, but potentially an N1000 or N1200 - however
it would probably not be for me if you get my drift...

That said, I could do with something with decent ventilation as I damn
near cooked what's left of my brain today in the Schuberth. Quiet it
may be, but it's also got sod-all ventilation...

BTW, that jacket you sold me while you were at HG in Harrow seems to be
duff - it must have shrunk during the winter.

I got a Technoflo from Harris for 20ish quid. I took advantage of a
special offer cos I was feeling tight. It's OK, but I have to duck down
a little further than I'd like when giving it some.

Did you mention some time ago that they did an ACU flipper?

BTW is Paul still at YS+L?

Lozzo scribbled on the back of a napkin:
I did, and I didn't get thrown off the premises, either.

Tried most of the low- to medium-end helmets and we walked out with a
Nitro N750-VX. Surprisingly plush for the money, plus herself suggested
that it was the best fit and most comfortable of the helmets we tried.

  13. On Monday and Tuesday of this week, I was in the factory where Nitro
helmets are made, to inspect the production facilities and to audit
their in-house batch testing. I came away *seriously* impressed with
    the quality of their work.

BTW, Loz, did you receive my email to you on this subject?

Yes thanks Paul, I got the text message ta, but it costs more to text
to China so I didn't reply right away :)

  17. At least mushrooms exist above ground. From what I have been told, you
will be more like root vegetables when the new warehouse is built. ;-)

I went through the entire production process, from where the raw
materials are mixed, through to final inspection and packing. The
attention to detail and quality of workmanship was impressive enough,
but then I got to spend half a day in the lab, going through files of
batch testing reports and watching new tests being performed. Even in
the second of the repeated impact tests, all the helmets I saw tested
    passed by a country mile.

I also spoke with another visitor about research work he had performed,
using a wind tunnel, to calculate the different loads applied to the
wearer's neck by a variety of helmets (the lower the load, the less
strain on the neck and shoulders). The best results recorded were
loadings of just over 8 kg, but a respected, high-end brand product
raised this to over 18 kg!

  18. Are you sure? You would have been texting my UK mobile number, so
surely paying standard UK SMS rates. Same if you phoned me: you pay for
the UK leg of the call at standard UK rates, but I pay for the
transcontinental leg at an exorbitant level.

You'd be impressed with the new factory. Actually "factory" gives the
wrong impression of scale. It occupies a site which would probably
encapsulate Mallory Park, and maybe even Donington! They are dubbing it
"the largest motorcycle helmet factory in the world", and I think they
could be holding that distinction for quite some time.

Is £70 a good price for one of these? I'm getting neck ache at high speeds in
    my old kevlar Nava.

    term is). ;-)
