Actually I was expecting someone to say "What, if the names weren't there
it would prevent people from voting for their own design?"

At the risk you're being deliberately dim...

A blind vote in as you don't know the author of the design. So it
doesn't become a popularity contest. ATM, you may get a lot more votes
than, say, Bear (had he entered)...

I was trying to be mildly funny.
Yes, I know, but - hey - thanks!
this contest is somewhat more fair than last time, as the designs are
all presented in a similar way - last year, the "voting booth" was
just a collection of links to designs on the designers own websites...

    yeah... right...

Do you know, so was I. Yeah, that's it, so was I.
Still an argument for it being blind. Although I couldn't get off my
arse/have the ability to design one so why am I worrying.

Might as well join the fray and air my impressions publicly...

I didn't vote for Cab's offering but I think it is a clever idea cleverly
    done. Respect.

I also rated SteveM's gingerbread man design and Mark's painterly efforts.
    Nice work.

    I particularly liked Darsy & Simonk's arty submissions - I'd happily wear a
t-shirt with those designs on all day every day!
So I was disappointed to learn we might be limited on colours (somewhere
    else in this thread).
However I'm sure I've heard of places that can transfer photographs onto
    t-shirts - in full(ish) colour.
Are these prohibitively expensive or prohibitively crap?

Indeed but most designs up there could be simplified in colourscheme and
still look effective - your roadsign for example.
    Usually the second.

However you may have noted my comments about digitransfer which can look
damned good and not prohibitively expensive either, as the added expense
is countered by lack of screens to be made and drying times between each
    colour etc.

Cool. I realised afterwards it might need simplifying.
Ah - yes - missed that. Ta.

  11. well I quite like that one but a reference ukrmma seems pertinent - sign
to the Channel Ports? Oh and some of the regional references are
    somewhat defunct.

Heh, don't worry, I didn't vote for mine either. There were some
    better ones there.

As it goes, I did that one as a 'colour limited' idea.

Impressive, they're clearly using more than a simple screen print but,
as I mentioned above, expensive. They are charging $15 per shirt as a
base cost (without P&P and mark up) and although I'm sure there will be
others who may be cheaper, it's still going to be a step up from a
    screen print process.

Bearing in mind that some of us will wear this T-shirt at non-ukrm
events, I reckon it's preferable to go for something pretty simple with
    a more universal appeal.

The problem with some designs, in particular Sorby's roadsign design is
that they're (dare I say it) 'cliquey'.

All IMHO of course, but I'd prefer something that's

a: relatively 'clean' - so that you're not restricted in places you
    could wear it.
b: fairly simple in it's message.

    But... there is no clique!

Actually - you have to admit that UKRM is cliquey by nature. No?
Valid points - but I don't like the idea of sterilising ukrm. It's a nasty,
ugly place full of sick, pedantic wierdos - and I like it that way!)

<thinks> Maybe I could change 'FCUKRM' to 'Oh Flip UKRM' ? </thinks>

Some cracking designs there. A couple of Sorby's got my vote but the
law of averages made sure of that.

Really need to vote for anything apart from Sorby's; he obviously wants
    it too much.

Didn't he make a comment elsewhere about his missus being kept in the
kitchen, perhaps he should let her out occasionally?
