Fit new seals,

Fit new progressive front springs,

Fit new exhausts,

Fit new gaskets to the right-hand cylinder,

Fit a fog lamp,

Sort a number of minor electrical problems out.

Anyone want to make bets on how long it takes? All proceedes to Dr.
Barnardo's?

All part of owning an R80RT, or as Matt would say, an ABORT... don't
know why tho'.....

Be doing fucking well to do that lot in a day! especially if the exhausts
are well rusted in. Give it a week )

 

Prop up bike
Remove front wheel
Detach brake calipers
Cuppa
Remove mudguard
Pry crashpad off top yoke
Attempt to get spanner under bars to undo nuts
Fail
Undo handlebar clamps and remove
Search for a wrench big enough for the nuts
Lunch
Remove nuts with Stilson and blasphemy
Undo lower yoke clamping screws
Drag forks out of yoke and mount in Workmate
Cuppa
Remove top plug and circlip from one stanchion
First Aid
Remove other plug etc
Undo drain plugs in sliders and allow fork oil to drain out into
suitable receptacles
Cuppa
Wander outside and notice a)it's gotten quite dark already and b)it's
still pissing down
Remove old springs and marvel at how skinny the wire is
Pump stanchions to encourage draining
Sit on a crate leafing through HBoL until dinner's ready
