Drove down to Ma's earlier to sort some paperwork for her.

It was rather nice and sunny, so I left the sunroof open a couple of
inches to ventilate the car, parked up and went inside.

About an hour later, there was 10 minutes of monsoon... No reaction
from me, other than to call Henry (dog) inside.

Another hour further on, another mini monsoon - with hail.

About 5 minutes into this one, I realise the fucking sunroof's open.

    BUGGER!!!

Thank **** for leather seats, though...

That's the only time they're worth having and having a memory is a bit
    cheaper.

    heh

This reminds me of the time I washed my mobile phone with my work
    clothes.

I did that recently and the SIM survived even though the phone was
    totally fucked.

Well I was the one that left it open, yes, although she was with me at
the time, so was not unaware of the fact.
She was very quiet for a day or three.

Take a look at the last 2 words I wrote before you strike, or the hook
may fly back and spike you...

My missus did that with my old Renault 19. The early ones had sunroofs
which only slid, rather than slide and tilt. Left it open all night in
    a downpour.

I got in it the following morning to go to work to find the footwells
with around an inch of water slopping about.

Took 3 days with a fan heater poked through the sunroof to dry the
    bloody thing out.

I had a similarly peforated MG Midget.

As it only leaked over the passenger ICBA to fix it.
Was a bit surreal in winter getting into the car with a row of frozen
icicles hanging off the centre support mind.

I had a '52 VW with some type of cloth sunroof when I lived in Germany.
I had to wear rain gear and if I ran the defrosters water would come out
with what little air there was.
