Oh no .. what have I done ...BMW R80RT to be re-born.

It looks like a BMW R80RT project will grace the inside of my
luxuriously untidy garage/workshop/indoor tip before long, and
after months of assiduous fiddling it will rise like a Phoenix
to waft me (us, actually) in elegant and stylish style around
    the locality and beyond.

Very good and enjoyable to meet you, Marina and Owen, and hope you have
a Good One on your hols.
Thanks for the gallons of coffee.
Thanks for the helmet, from Lynn (She of great grace and beauty).
Thanks for the bike, from me.
Looking forward to pushing money at you.

    Cheers

No, I sold that to a guy down Maidstone direction. I'm assuming that this
is Owen's one, which had gone electrically belly up IIRC.

But I'm an air head as well, so it might take ages.

(actually, much looking forward to fettling it.)

Yea, but I have the time to sort that without hopefully bankrupting
myself, and things like rose joints solid, cables etc, acres of rust,
opaque screen etc etc, but apart from all that it is a beaut.

I've got a Haynes BoL for BMW Series 5/6 gathering dust on the shelf.
Not applicable to this SOBMW, but if anyone else needs it I could stick
    it in a jiffy bag.

Much as I loved my R90/6 I can't see me acquiring another. SWMBO is
getting very stern about my failure to put her CB250 Nighthawk back on
the road (anyone got a manual for one of those) and there is a
'Forgotten Era' Morini hill climber to build.

In a years time (or whatever...) it will look beautiful, be ridden and
be loved... I couldn't hope for more...

I think this is the point where Lozzo comes in licking his pencil...

I was hoping to have it on the road a sight sooner than that!
The spanners will be a blur of activity ... the Hammerite will soon be
sold out in all hardware shops in a 15 mile radius of me ... etc ...
Ah Bless ... It will be as loved and cherished as my shiteoldtriumph,
owned for 33 years now. (Sad isn't it)
No worries, I nicked some diplomatic plates from a UN protection squad
bike in Dortmund the other week so no probs there.
